  1. As someone with a college introductory course in Geography under his belt, I approve and +1 this post. Please add it! ?
  2. The FIHL infrastructure has been made more reader-friendly; enjoy. ?

  3. Anyone who’s interested in the FIHL is welcome to apply to join it and interview with me IRPly to become a teacher; we’re recruiting!

  4. Upon seeing the notice during his pass through the grove on one of his many scholarly travels, Airebys shook his head and sighed to himself. “They would let untrained randoms perform their guard duty? This may not bode well for the Grove’, as I would imagine there are some who would abuse the trust of their Archdruids... I foresee many a squabble between both long time residents and traveler-frequent...” He walks away from the missive and goes about the rest of his day, ever pensive and churning of the mind.
  5. This coming from a newby who’s pfp looks like a cocain addict; makes sense. Character Sheets aren’t dead, people who don’t make them are just lazy or don’t mind not having one. Keep doing what you want @valentine, it’s a lovely CS.
  6. Upon reading the last word of the parchment, Zastro lets out a deep sigh, the vapor of his breath freezing on the cold air. “Tolerance is acceptable, but this cultural melting-pot is preposterous – a complete disregard for your own people... Do you Mali know what the Humans are capable of? The hundreds of years of slavery, subjugation, genocide, and evangelization the Empire has wrought not just on the Mali’fenn, but our cousins? No generation henceforth is likely to learn of their culture, their language and their people under the dictatorial monarchy of the Imperials; they who always reach their hands into the coffers of their vassals and their swords into the backs of neighboring provinces. This suits no purpose but for you traitors to keep your own hides uncut and tanned. You say your bumbling Order of The Aheral'Parir will live without excess? Imperialism itself does not stand for living without excess, and under the Empire’s rule you will be the tool they use seek out excess... Before you are thrown away. It is not necessarily the Elven Kingdoms and Princedoms that are failing – it’s the fact that none of the subraces seek out their kin before bending knee and selling their blood to Man and his Canonist “God”. The absolute hysterical irony in this missive is how your Order joins the very nation that despises it’s kind, and subjects it to hatred, bigotry, ostracizing, murder and racism. Your women are Chikr, your beliefs Caele, your magicians Iler. You are Aelor’elor. I would give each of your people a nugget of gold, but I imagine the meaning is lost to you ignorant fools.”

  8. [!] The missive is received via Trained Messenger Macaw as Zastro is writing one of his many contemplation's, “The Shepherd calls to Sheep, I suppose... Let’s see how many beckon to it,” he says to himself, continuing to scribble in one of his many books and sheaf's of parchment.
  9. Quite the extensive language to mentally grasp; and significantly larger than Ancient Elven. Kudos.
  10. Ah, my study was for more direct/literal terms derived from what I saw on the first page of the thread; no triggering intended x) Even so, a fruitful offense it could be considered, as you’ve taught me a new word to revere.
  11. Will note some grammatical amendments below; please make any further corrections. And thanks for the help! Nealu’maehr – Literally translating to “To teach Knowledge”, figuratively translating to “Knowledge Teacher”. Nealuir – Someone who teaches, “Teacher” Mali’taelu – Literally translates to “Elf to Learn”, where it could figuratively translate to mean “Elf who learns”. Nealuir’ignesae – Someone who teaches War, “War Teacher” Nealuir’norsae – Someone who teaches farming, “Farming Teacher” Nealuir’bilok – Someone who teaches to create, figuratively translating to “Craft Teacher” With the amendment of the Ancient Elven word for “Teacher”, “Maehr’sae” becomes redundant and will thus be purged from the study.
  12. I’ve done some digging through this page, as I’d like to get into some tasty RP later and have devised some possible Elven terms for you all to use; do correct any grammatical errors as this is my first time studying LoTC’s linguistics: Evar’maehr – Literally translating to “To protect, to preserve Knowledge”, figuratively translating to “Preserver of Knowledge”. Maehr’sae – Literally translating to “Knowledge spreading, knowledge development”, figuratively translating to “Spreading of Knowledge”, “Development of Knowledge”, “Knowledge Spreader”, “Knowledge Developer”. Uhier’maehr – Literally translates to “To seek Knowledge”, figuratively translating to “Knowledge Seeker” or “Scholar”. Puerith’maehr – Literally translating to “To record Knowledge”, figuratively translating to “Recorder of Knowledge” or “Librarian”, Nealu’san – Literally translating to “To teach to Speak”, figuratively translating to “Teacher of Speech” or “Language Teacher”. Taelu’san – Literally translating to “To learn to Speak”, figuratively translating to “Learner of Speech” or “Linguist”. Taelu’san’an (Taelu’sanan) – Literally translating to “To learn to speak many”, figuratively translating to “Learner of many languages” or “Polyglot”. Nealu’inde – Literally translating to “To teach History”, figuratively translating to “Teacher of History” or “History Teacher”, “Historian”. Mali’taelu – Literally translates to “Elf to Learn”, where it could figuratively translate to mean “Elf who learns” or “Elf Student”. Ailer’taelu – Literally meaning “Wizard to Learn”, where it could figuratively translate to “Wizard who learns” or “Wizardry Student”. Unfortunately, a rather exclusive term as no functional term for “Magic” or “Mystics” can be found.

Zastro Waibor was born to a common Mali'fenn family. Aware of the Iblees curse that affects many Elven families across the land of Atlas, his parents were thrilled to be gifted with their first-born. What they beheld was a soft child, with discolored eyes and a full head of outlandish hair. The boy was raised by his parents for many years to come, though the Waibor family would be victim to much scrutiny by their kinsmen due to their past decisions and eccentric, bizarre son. Before Zastro was born, his parents had assisted an outsider into gaining entry into the Citadel of Acael, unaware of this strangers intent to steal an artifact revered by the Snow Elves in regards to their god and deity; Wyrvun’fiyem. It was this offense that his parents would later hypothesize as to being the cause of their first-born being such a quirky creature. Zastro takes delight in entertaining, tricking, annoying, bothering, assisting and all the like for the mere ‘heck’ of it. He especially finds great enjoyment in nihilistic, dark humor and is often looked down upon for his tendency to misinterpret social cues. His equipping of gaudy, colorful clothing is yet another testament to his eccentric personality, and one of his many methods of catching the eye of easily annoyed or easily entertained passerby’s. His antagonistic tendencies leave his parents constantly stressed by the notion of being socially ostracized, and so they eventually devised his internship into a temporary jester group to travel across Atlas. Upon realizing this same inconvenience, the jester group savagely beat Zastro and disfigured his face in an attempt to ward others from sharing the same air as this tragically misunderstood boy. Being so far from his homeland, the few skills he possesses to do odd-jobs and the basic military training he received as a younger man are all that keep him alive.
