For the upcoming Astercalia season, it is my hope to receive a sponsorship so I may partake in the events of debuting into imperial society. My name is Arabella, and I am almost fifteen years of age. Because of my parentage, I cannot participate by my name alone but perhaps I can with the kind help of another. 

I promise to represent my sponsor and their family’s name to the best extent of my abilities. I plan to release some of the plays and poems I have been writing for the season, and I can write a play of any genre and story for whoever sponsors me as well if they so wish - or poems, too. To the loyal subjects of the Orenian Kingdom, though a time of peril scours the streets of Vienne, it is vital to assess the coming-of-age of the most prominent youth of Oren. As a society, we have been delegated with godsends to incorporate into the next era. A gilded epoch lies ahead for Oren, and we must construct our tomorrow by functioning assiduously and concentrating our vitalities on the youthful and the potential. Furthermore, the tradition of the decorous blossoming is earmarked for the Stassion Court’s aristocracy and those alike.

As issued by the Reforms of Astercalia:

To guarantee that participants are adequately prepared for this occurrence, the Astercalia Season will be proclaimed two years in advance to cater to seamstresses expecting to design appropriate attire. All eligible nobility will be automatically inscribed to the index of noble participations (called actors). Noble pedigree between the ages of fifteen and twenty-four will be ordered to participate. Once the directory of individuals is released, those unable to participate must send a direct missive to Her Royal Majesty.

Whilst it is seen as a requirement to be of noble birth to debut, exceptions may be made towards those common-born; An Auspice, an official letter of patronage. To obtain such, one must contact an aristocratic household to request such. Each house is entitled to sponsor a total of two commoners whether it be male or female.

Sponsorship must be submitted with a signature, direct letter, or exchange between the peer in question directly to Her Royal Majesty.

To the loyal subjects of the Orenian Kingdom, enlightenment amongst the City of Vienne is highly endorsed by that of the Royal Family and their pedigree. From the substantially skilled Kingsguard, to the entailed alchemists of the finest clinics on kingdom grounds- to all significant roles that share pertinent knowledge in which needs to be taught in order to be obtained. In due course, the Stassion Court would only deem it befitting to establish a prestigious academy in order to edify the adolescence of the realm in a manifold of forms in discipline and to aid in assembling the unforeseen future of the students- and the Kingdom of Oren. Classes will be held at Sarkozic Lane 5, and 50 minae will be charged in tuition every two years.

The Grand Foreman / Forewoman is a single person tasked job in which includes a variety of salient duties. Some of these duties include overseeing and accepting, or denying of the official applications for the academy, supervising the staff of the institution, and ensuring the education of all attendees. The Overseer of Scion works alongside the Grand Foreman/Forewoman in ensuring the education of all attendees. This position requires mandatory visits to each class and written reflections in which should be returned to His Royal Majesty, Fredrick I and Her Royal Majesty, Vivienne of Savoy.

Treasurer in Excellence:

The Treasurer in Excellence is in charge of the collecting of all academy revenue and ensuring all of Vienne’s Institute of Excellency attendees keep up with their payments. They should keep up with the official Treasurer of the Orenian Kingdom and hand in all collected mina to said person. Failure to do so or fraud will result in removal of position.

Instructors of Vienne: 

The Instructors of Vienne work with the attending adolescents to ensure their education is taught and that students absorb all information that is being taught. They are expected to attend all required classes and will earn and receive payment for their teachings.

Scholars: 

The Scholars of Vienne’s Institute of Excellency are charged with no tasks but to attend all of their classes, and to obtain knowledge. They are the adolescents of the branches, and will be required to take a final test at the end of all their lessons to prove their picking up of information.

The attending pupils will also receive the chance to become a ward under prominent noble figures, or governmental councilors of repute.

D I V I S I O N S :

Diplomacy

The study of handling affairs between two parties without the arousal of hostility. Scholars will be taught leadership, political science, cultural anthropology, sociology, and foreign policy. 

Apothecary

The study of Orenian methods of medicine, herbals, and remedies. Scholars will be taught how to proficiently brew proper therapeutics to aid the kingdom in times of desperation. Further studies of pharmacology, pathology, and biochemistry will be taught to more advanced scholars.

Theology

The study of the Orenian higher power, the divine power that bestows us with the gift of life, birth, and nature. Scholars will be taught the affairs of worship, religious

 ethics, morality, history, philosophy, and literature whilst being instructed by officials from the most rigorous establishments.

Art of the Sword

The study of the Orenian Kingdom’s code of chivalry and the most efficient ways of combat. Scholars will be taught how to properly work with militia weapons like swords, bows and how to follow orders from commanders and etc. Students will additionally have the opportunity to become knighted once of age.

Stassion Etiquette

The study of set proper manly and lady-like manners that should be shared amongst Orenian citizens in conversation, behavior and actions. Scholars will be taught customary code of polite behavior by learning respect, loyalty and kindness amongst other ways of greeting higher-ups- and ways of the court.

THE KINGDOM’S TEMPORE OF GROWTH AND MATURATION

To the loyal subjects of the Orenian Kingdom, a reinvigorated age of prosperity is upon Oren and we as a culture are mandated to flourish for centuries to come through our exemplary adolescence. The Future of Oren is upon us and it is dire that we as a society put forth the potential youth of the Kingdom through high anticipations. Furthermore, to persist the custom of the ceremonious coming of age is proprietary for the youthful, eligible nobility of the Stassion Court and those alike. It is with extraordinary satisfaction that the Astercalia Reforms are publicized, reforms enclosing high society, merrymakings to adequately mark the transition into the tribulations of maturity, and advancements to facilitate the prosperity of love.

New Meaning

To redirect the interpretation of the Astercalia, the high peerage of Vienne will no longer be mandated to bestow their flair and accomplishments during the noble ceremony. The New Meaning of the Astercalia will encompass high society as a whole to unite and assemble under one King.

The Astercalia Garden

Once debuters are presented to the Queen, they will be bestowed seeds for either a chaste, dainty Daisy of Adolescence or a ruby, blooming Rose of Maturation. In order to unroot themselves from the eligibility garden, ladies who’ve discovered a partner will eradicate their bud, illustrating that they uncovered a suitor.

The Queen’s Favor

At the courtesy of the Queen Vivienne of Savoy, Her Royal Majesty will customarily use her exemplary verdict to moderate all marriages arranged during the depths of the season, along with Princess Royal, Her Royal Highness Maude of Oren when she comes of age. Debutants who hope for their coveted union to be arranged by Her Royal Majesty are directed to arrange a private appointment with the other party and their matriarch in order to discuss possible configurations. If Her Royal Majesty voices disfavor in the match, then such will further cease to exist.

The Anonymous Penman

In order to avert the abhorrent whispers of gossip columns, an exclusive podium will be present within the palace for mysterious writings to be documented. Individuals are encouraged to report anything that may be of interest to this podium as they dissuade others from pursuing knowledge in an antagonistic manner.

THE QUEEN’S PRELIMINARY

Upon the commencement of Astercalia, chosen noble actors will partake in a seminar on the fundamentals of inaugurating themselves in high society. Traditional Orenian cuisine and abundant refreshments will be offered to those present. Young ladies and lords will be examined firmly on their mannerisms throughout the lecture, which will be hosted by Her Royal Majesty, Queen Vivienne of Savoy, and her formal party. Preceding the debutante course, the Court Seamstress will catalog measurements of each individual for a costume to be created. Those present will relish in discussions and are welcomed to mingle on their own accord.

THE AISLE CEREMONY

&

AMADISTUS

In honor of Amadea of Pompourelia

In honor of the decades-old tradition, the Aisle Ceremony will entail an exhibition of those participating, diverging first-time actors, and those who have debuted before. Actors order will be based on the order of majesty, those of royal genesis will be the foremost to proceed, noble pedigree secondary, those on sponsorship threefold, and aristocrats from foreign nations endmost. Actors must demonstrate Orenian mannerisms and class, whilst exhibiting their household to the highest degree. Those of the same house will debut concurrently chaperoned by their patriarch, treading aside them on the aisle to ensure proper representation. Those with An Auspice are to be chaperoned by those sponsoring them. If two actors are betrothed already, they will walk jointly beside each other. Once the party arrives at the dais, the chaperone will bow, step aside, and bestow the limelight upon the actor. Following the Aisle Ceremony, Her Royal Majesty will present ladies with respective seeds based on age group that they will later plant in The Sow.

A traditional ball will prevail at The Aisle Ceremony to introduce each actor along with aristocrats and those of royal advent. Thus is Amadistus with an open invitation to public attendees. In order to uphold integrity to the lady debutantes and male debuts, actors are hailed to maintain the stringent prerequisites of etiquette therein. Later in the eve, a march will initiate in which maidens will waltz with each suitor, entertaining in conversation in which ladies will then shift to the next suitor after a short period.

THE SOW & HOLLOW

Amidst the Astercalia Garden, the planting of The Sow will commence at the inception of Astercalia. During this time, maidens will plant seeds given by Her Royal Majesty of either a; 

Rose of Maturation

Daisy of Adolescence

Sowed bushes are to be preserved by each lady and will gradually bloom throughout the season, portraying her blossoming into high society. Once maidens have located a respective dance partner for the final ball or a love match, they will silently unbury their flower and present it to the suitor of their choosing. Pairs are demanded to conceal their courtships confidentially until the end of the season. Be wary, if one’s bush is somehow uprooted by another, they will not be able to participate in the final ceremonial ball. 

The Hollow, however, is a personalized occurrence where one bears the flowers that have blossomed from the bush and mash them up into a pigment. This matter will then be expelled into the Lion’s Den, portraying the adaptation of the chaos and tribulations that is adulthood. Ladies must write to Her Royal Majesty to secure her approval of the match they have cultivated. If she consents, the match will be announced at the final ball, but if she disapproves, Her Royal Majesty will yield a letter of dismissal. A lady who fails to write a letter asking for approval will be deemed raucous. 
 

THE TOURNEY OF FURNESTOCK

In honor of Philip III

A showcase of potency is deemed suitable and essential amidst the festivities and ceremonies of Astercalia by the Stassion Court. The finest soldiers, swordsmen, and knights from each noble pedigree are to coalesce in a manifold of challenges at the Ruins of Haverlock against one another to inevitably proclaim the champion of the eve, who shall be announced as the Champion of Furnestock. Such a designation will be maintained until the following Astercalia, where the title will be impugned once again. At the occurrence itself, ladies will retrieve a rose from their bush to present to a competitor whom they believe may triumph as Champion of Furnestock. The flowers collected by the victor will be presented to the lady of his selection.

THE ANASTASIAN FINALE

In honor of Empress Anastasia

The Anastasian Finale will host every actor along with an unrestricted invitation to public attendees. The ball will initiate with the announcement of those who partook in festivities throughout the season. Her Royal Majesty will then formally disclose the matrimony of courtships arranged as each lady delivers a flower from their bush to their match. Traditional dishes from each notable house will be served along with a multitude of refreshments before the conclusive dance will initiate. Pairs will conjoin to a ribbon and waltz in a spiral about a maypole until the ribbon has been entirely enveloped around the pole. The Merry will conclude with a personalized address from His Royal Majesty, Frederick I, before partners may live happily ever after.

The concept of the Astercalia is to embody the coming of age of an individual while remaining within the wills of Owynism. In order to find compatible partners, one must be alluring, but open with their ancestry. Those participating shall adorn themselves with the respected colors of their house. When partaking in Astercalia, it is important to represent one's family well through familial motifs, such as animals or symbols. It is encouraged for women to bear family heirlooms that represent their households while men don their familial capes and tapestries. 

Headwear, pertaining as tiaras and circlets, though otherwise disallowed, are authorized for all debutantes of peers who obtain familial antiques. Debutantes of peers all below a ducal title may only model these if endorsed by The Keeper of the Crown Jewels. Whilst those may be privileged under specific regulations, Crowns and diadems are strictly prohibited upon the actor population. Though, brooches and other headpieces alike are vigorously urged among ladies whilst styling one’s hair. Failure to abide by the rules may result in direct confrontation from Her Royal Majesty herself. Throughout the events to come, the dais which hosts the Royal Family must remain untouched throughout all events. The dais is a symbol of stature and will only be used by those directly invited to join Her Royal Majesty and The Princess Royal when she comes of age. Amidst the actors, lady debutantes must not speak unless spoken to and are mandated to present a curtsy before the royal entourage and Queen’s Council.

Actors must remain decorous to their peers throughout the season. Addressing through introductions and conclusions of conversations are based on the gender of the actor. Male peers and consorts may be addressed as Lord or “my lord”, whilst female peers and consorts may be addressed as Lady or “my lady”.

As I become more advanced in my age, it has never been clearer to me than at this moment that I must step aside and let the next generation of courtiers take flight. Whether they may soar or plummet is up to the leadership of the novice members of the Stassion Court Council. I, myself, have decided to retire my expertise, and hone my focus solely on my business, as well as the duties I've been charged with to serve our glorious kingdom.

Whilst we live in a very different time now, I continue this goal in that I dedicated my entire life to serving what I believed in, from my Empress, to my country, to GOD and all those who looked toward me. I have no regrets carried in my life other than that in which I would have had the opportunity to serve longer, but alas, the torch is sometimes thrown before one is ready, and to try and prolong the inevitable is not always of the best interest. For too long, my own wings were nailed to the floor by the belief that I must continue to serve the Stassion (formerly Aster) Court in order to do justice for the late Empress Anastasia I. It is now that I return my master key to Castle Stassion, and rejoin the stands of our humblest courtiers after nearly forty years of uninterrupted service to the once Imperial, now Royal House of Novellen.

I wish the best of fortune to my successor. 

 If I have seen further, it is because I stand on the shoulders of giants.

What is currently the Kingdom of Oren has harbored a protracted record of its courts, from the official and archaic Imperial Courts- segued to what is now dubbed the Stassion Courts and the Queen’s Council, in which were bifurcated into two components. The reformation of the Orenian Kingdom has subjected umpteen amounts of modifications to that of the Stassion Court; however, the Lady Seneschal reckoned it be suitable to append additional positions to the current courts. These refinements are meant to fetch forth a new age of innovation, artistry, and opportunity.

The Merger of the Adriatic with the Queen’s Court

And the creation of the King’s Honormen.

King Frederick commands his first honormen.

      As the new era prevails, so too does the nobility. In seeing to the advancement of the highest estate, the King requires a solid body composed of vibrant communication in order to administer the growth of his liegemen firsthand. Hence, under the public court of Her Majesty The Queen- in which all may participate, commoner or otherwise-, he establishes the institution of the King’s Honormen, exclusively composed of his peers. This act additionally merges the Adriatic into an event rallied beneath the wings of the royal court’s ministration, retaining all its importance in the field of noble qualms and decisions.

      The formation of the Honormen charges the nobility with ambition by offering various roles of significant importance to the vitality of Vienne and its surrounding provinces, each chosen by the king’s observation of valor, enterprise and industry among individuals born of fair nobility, be the victor man or woman.

      It should be noted that by the publishing of this document, the Adriatic, the Queen’s Court, and the King’s Honormen, hereby proclaimed as ‘courtly functionaries’, are to be merged into one functionary institution, that is, the Royal Court of Oren.

      The honormen are a select council of Peers, each venerated with a distinct obligation to the King’s service. Spare for the title of the Kingsguard, each title is to be held in vacancy until a proper ceremony is conducted by the Court to invoke them.

THE MASTER OF THE HUNT

      The master of the hunt stocks the court’s coffers with hunting weapons and tools, including bows, arrows, iron, bait, traps, etc, as well as hunting dogs. In action, they coordinate the royal hunt, be it during the Adriatic or during an individual event. When needed, they track the movement of legendary beasts to provide stimulating prey for the King’s nobles and other avid stalkers.

THE MASTER OF THE HORSE

      The master of the horse manages the Stassion stable, breeding finely bred horses and training them into extraordinary speed and muscle fit for all persons noble and royal. If need be, they will supply horses to the legion or event planners who necessitate the use of travel.

THE CROWN CHAMPION

      Ordained with status of peerage, or nominated in virtue of a peered household’s representation, the Crown Champion is the honorman bound with the repute of the Court’s most apt swordsman. The Crown Champion is bound to the Court’s code of chivalry, and is expected to uphold the honor of the position that is attributed to them.

THE KEEPER OF THE SWANS

      Every saint’s month, the Keeper of the Swans organizes a grand festival for the Kingdom, in which a crate of swans are to be released from the canal within the River Petra. This act symbolizes the freedom and new beginnings that come with each harvest felled by the farmers of Orenia.

THE KINGSGUARD

      The 4th cohort of the Petran Legion is administered by Sir Edmond de Rouen, and is also constructed by the title of the King’s honormen. The Kingsguard is a notorious cohort, fashioning the militaristic similarity of the Drazimann brigade by Sir Octavian Vimmark-Roussard. They are upheld to the highest of endeavors, brandishing the great plates of golden and silver.

      The Adriatic is the King’s circumstantial assembly of nobles, managed by the Steward of the Adriatic, in which he dines among his peers and their families and discusses the state of the nobility’s traditions, performance, marriages, and any other matter of importance pertaining to the highest estate. If any topic broaches on length, carousal will be sacrificed for the sake of remedying affairs. Conversely, if topics are bluntly resolved, the King’s honormen are able to dedicate the day- with time permitting -to one activity of their choice, such as a hunt, horse race, feast etc.

      A majority of decisions regarding the noblesse, including promotions, demotions, abdications, etc, are made within the quarters of the Adriatic Tent. Any noble may request an audience of the Adriatic, but only the king may heed his request.

Castle Stassion was completed in 1869 under the reign of King Frederick I of Oren as the principal residence of the House of Novellen. It is located on the eastern stretch of the Petra river in the center of the Upper Petra region, due just slightly northwest of the gates of the royal capital.

Leads the court as a mediator and final authority. As the head of the court, the Queen consort serves as an administrative position overseeing all court matters and the Council. These responsibilities may shift and vary with the assistance of other managerial positions on the council. The Queen is the authority of the court and there is no debate on that. 

Lady Seneschal - Miss Odessa MacPherson [tillisaurus]

The Lady Seneschal is tasked with staffing the palace with maids, butlers, ladies-in-waiting, chefs, wards for the sovereigns, etc. As such is the seneschal’s duty to staff the castle, it is also their responsibility to ensure that the royal household is kept tidy, organised, and held to the most regal standard. The seneschal is, in short, the general groundskeeper of Castle Stassion, additionally being charged in the allocation of courtier rooms and servants’ quarters alike. Acting as a general assistant to the head of the court, the Queen, the seneschal can be deferred to for many matters of the court, and is able to command the military, within the palace, in the name of the Queen.

Lady Chamberlain - Lady Rosina Helvets [gohliad]

Documents fashion etiquette, fashion history, skins, and court decorum. Laundresses are fashion makers that work under the chamberlain. The chamberlain also leads fashion auctions and sales, which makes them the manager of the court’s monetary expenses and profits. The chamberlain holds the power to censor any art, such as poetry, plays and the like that display the royal household in a troublesome light. She may also help with other things pertaining to the court if the Queen so wishes. 

The Chaplain - The Cardinal Albarosa [Vylkmir]

In charge of all religious events in the court. They do not necessarily have to be a nun or priest but must be certified by the church and are the primary advisor of the court where the church is concerned. The Chaplains responsibilities include organising charities, harvests, baptisms, prayer, rites of maturity and may also provide medicinal or religious advice.

Ladies in Waiting & Handmaids 

Managed by Seneschal, an entourage of the female members of the royal household act as both advisors and attendants to the Queen. They write and deliver letters on behalf of their lady, especially invitations and other correspondence. Within the ranks of the Queen’s mistresses is a small hierarchy, arranged both by social standing in the court itself and the Queen’s personal liking to her different mistresses. The hierarchy is as follows; 

Lady of the Bedchamber - head lady-in-waiting, the queens right hand (usually a high standing lady, although it could be anyone the queen takes a liking to in high society)

Mistress of the Wardrobe - curator of the queen’s closet

Ladies of the Household - married ladies, countesses and baronesses.

Maids of honour - beginning spots for unmarried women at courts.

Master of the Adriatic Court - The Lady Privy Seal [amyselia]

Manages the events of the adriatic court that happen every four years within the Adriatic Tent. Coordinates hunts so that both non-hunters and hunters will be entertained, as well as many other events pertaining to the nobility. Can also be the chamberlain, but if so desired they can be someone else.

Court Tutor 

The Court Tutor is a job of utmost importance, in charge of educating the future generations of the Orenian nobility, along with the royal family themselves. They are to ensure that the children of the next generation are well versed in proper courty and worldly affairs, along with proper etiquette and manners. There can be multiple court tutors to dish out within our vast population of growing children.

Etiquette in the court is pivotal; how a noble conducts oneself in the presence of other nobles and the royal family shall dictate the perception and representation of oneself in court. The expectations of etiquette are to be taught and managed by the Lord Chamberlain

While the expectations of etiquette are to be taught and managed by the Lord Chamberlain, we recommend that the courtiers follow these basic rules to avoid embarrassment and ruin within the court.

General Etiquette

     ♔ Courtier must respect their superiors within court at all times and address them by their proper titles when conversing [See Titles & Addressment].

     ♔ A respectful demeanor, particularly how one carries themselves, must be maintained at court.

     ♔ Courtiers of the palace are prohibited from wearing any diadem, crown, circlet, or tiara if they are not members of the royal family. The only exception to this is during wedding ceremonies or a debutante, where the daughters of dukes and counts may wear small tiaras and sons of dukes and counts may wear circlets. Courtiers may never outshine the Queen’s attire, for it is seen as discourteous and disrespectful and such would be asked to remove it accordingly. 

In the Royal Presence 

     ♔ Courtiers must not touch the King, Queen or the immediate family of the King and Queen   

(brothers, sisters, and children).

♔ All must stand with a countenance of utmost respect when either the King or Queen enter within a room, until they are seated. Only after then may everyone else be seated. 

     ♔ Those of the court must avoid turning their backs on the royal family, as it is seen as disrespectful. 

     ♔ Avoid the use of nicknames regarding or referring to the royal family outside of private settings unless otherwise permitted. 

     ♔ Courtiers must curtsy or bow at the beginning and end of the conversation and address them by their title properly.

As the cloak of darkness took one day and continued it to another the nearly full term Queen Vivienne, who hadn’t been seen by the public in months due to her natal condition, returned to her room with much more difficulty than the nights before. She lay her head by her husband’s only for her slow descent into night’s sleep to be interrupted. The Queen was rushed to a separate room, along with her ladies-in-waiting as well as a few of the King’s advisors and the King himself. The birth of their, now, youngest child could not have come in a more untimely manner. 

After hours of waiting the night had become morning. The group had waited all through the night for the birth of the child and as the sun rose from the horizon the cries of the young princess rang out through the birthing chambers. The King’s advisors sat uneasily for the announcement of the sex, hoping for a second son to aid the first, though a thin layer of disappointment set in as a princess was announced rather than a prince. The King and Queen, however, seemed happy enough, a new addition to their family had been brought into Almaris after such a long wait.

The happenings of the Stassion court; Vol I

FOLLOWING the ascension of the King and Queen to the Orenian throne, and thus the court workings under a state of reimagination and improvement once more, the Queen Vivienne deems it fit for the establishment and introduction of the Queen’s Gazette. It will focus primarily on happenings and the changing fashion of society. While her majesty does not partake in authoring this newsletter, it is wholly dedicated to herself as the leader of court workings and will be published in her name.

Fashion as the very way we know it is now more prone to change than ever. In recent months, veils have come ever more into style, a continuation of the rise in hooded-styles we saw throughout the tenure of Empress Anastasia and her piety. While the hoods themselves seem to be fading out of general favor between ladies, we are also beginning to see the decline of fitted bodices and corsets for the first time in a long period. Perhaps it is not yet appropriate to deem them as ‘out of style’, though their decrease is most certainly something to keep an eye on in the future for any ladies who wish to remain present in style.

While royal purple overtook red as the color of the Empire, a dark and sophisticated fuchsia seems to be the mark of King Frederick’s reign, as seen on both the King and Queen in their respective wedding garb. 

The donning of necklaces, too, appears to be growing in popularity after a brief stint whence they were sparsely seen on Orenian women. The classics will likely always prevail, we find, and so a lady would do better picking a qualitative necklace than their most grand. The resurgence of lighter colored dresses is surely something of note, perhaps reminiscent of an era long passed, yet with the drastic change in silhouettes as of late it is assuredly a new era in itself.

Also envogue; the draping of sleeves on the back portion of the hand so that only the front portion is left exposed. This can be achieved by using fabrics lighter in weight and less restricting at the seams.

As for the men’s fashions, padding on the shoulders is IN. Usually leather or steel armory padding covered by the fabric of one's attire is the prevailing style, though in some cases it is seen to merely draw attention to the shoulders with solely structured fabric. As touched on briefly above, the ascension of Queen Vivienne as head of the Stassion Court indicates that significant changes will be made within the first five-or-so years at her station. Above all we can expect, due to Her Majesty’s austere nature, many altercations and refinements on the topic of royal etiquette. Words from courtiers even suggest court reforms are well under way, removing, adding, and altering a variety of different roles within it. 

Court was held by the Queen, in light of King Fredericks absence due to a sickness, and the Archchancellor on the 15th of Tobias’s Bounty, 1872. During which she regarded the court with a speech of merriment regarding the country. In addition, the March of Grodno was officially oathed with their peerage letters being published soon after the conclusion of the session. Most notably, when the floor opened to petitions, many witnessed the old Viscount Provins (prior to abdicating in favor of the cloth) stand before the Archchancellor and ask permission to settle in Oren. Considering Philip’s history during the Brother’s War, in which he attempted to swear fealty to the Emperor-pretender, this did not settle too well. In consequence he was dragged from the court by a number of guards with many attendees even claiming that his wife, the Lady Provins, hacked up a wad of spit into his face. Talk about estrangement.

Two years following the birth of the Princess Royal, the long awaited heir to the throne, Prince Frederick Aurelian of Oren, was born in the year 1871. The King and Queen are said to be elevated by the birth of their son and we can only hope that the new Prince of Providentia proves to encompass our passion for our country. Though, we cannot forget that alongside him did come a twin sister, little Princess Maxima Anastasia who is said to have quite the fondness for bumble bees!

Palace courtiers have revealed that a market is in the works amongst event planners of the court. While little exact details have yet to be revealed, we can only assume that with the spectacularity of the carnival, we have much to anticipate.

If no such topics are available, the day shall service the nobility’s appetite for carousal and allied chatter.

Thus, the Adriatic shall henceforth customarily precede or succeed Royal Courts of the Kingdom by a month, although it may also be called upon to address urgent crises. The date shall be decided by conference.

1. On arrival, peers and household members shall stand and intermingle in a bevy before the tent’s opening. They shall then wait to be summoned inside by order of rank. Ranks will be summoned together, with individual houses named by order of title creation.
   1. Whenever a new house is elevated, they shall be announced individually in the same manner. 
   2. This shall be repeated upon the succession of the Kingdom.

HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN anticipates the execution of the following for all Adriatics thereafter:

1. Peers and household members shall seek to display the heirlooms they possess in their jaunt to be seated and throughout the duration of the Adriatic. ((OOC: Emote the description of the items)).

3. Peers and household members will commission Adriatic attire, described as befitting the event of a hunt, feast, chase, etc.
   1. Note that due to short notice, this particular expectation will be omitted for the first Adriatic.
4. All communications regarding marriage arrangements are taboo within the Adriatic Tent if committed without a letter in advance to the Queen, who shall moderate all such discussion as the de facto head of the Astercalia Tempore.
5. The attendance of bannermen shall be prohibited, bar one for protection. All bannermen shall stand in wait outside beside the King's Guard.

Having spent a lengthy period of three long years in the Cragenmarch, HIH The Duchess of Westmarch has found herself imbued with new inspiration. Thus, she has found it within herself to once again sell paintings to her patrons once more.

However, she has chosen to release these in the form of a series of new collections entitled “Roadside Gems” with the intent of showcasing the most beautiful of scenes as she sets out to circumnavigate Almaris! The first of these collections shall cover scenes from the Haeseni-Orenian borderlands as well as Lower and Upper Petrus.

These new landscape portraits will showcase a wide variety of scenes from across the continent, ones which illustrate the beauty and diversity of those locales not widely known to the general public.

In the same tradition as her previous auctions, 10% of the proceeds will be donated to charitable endeavors, with the rest going to support Princess Catherine’s creative endeavors and travels across the continent.

The construction of Vienne and the Stassion Palace has long since plagued the bountiful array of livestock that prance in our picturesque lands. A shortage of meat has led the citizens of our beloved capital into a robust frenzy. Fortunately, due to the sorcery of prolonged time, the multicultural livestock has begun to make a steady and firm return back into our ecosystem. This only calls for one vigorously anticipated thing: a lengthy commemoration and the homecoming of meat to our hungry citizens who have since relied on esteemed stock from nearby farmers. A hunt is most appropriate for this occasion.  

Preparation of Hunters

One is only able to master the art of hunting through lengthy preparation. They are to assemble a flock of esteemed steeds and hounds for the journey, a preferred choice by many. The weapons used for hunting are mostly similar to those used for war: a bow, crossbow, lance or spear, knife and sword. Bows are the most commonly used weapon. Cudgels are to be packed as use for clubbing small game - in particular for women who join the hunt. Boar spears are also acceptable. Other salient items pertain to carefully set up traps for smaller animals to make hunting time more efficient. 

The Hunt 

The ensemble of citizens who wish to participate will depart from the gates of Vienne, travelling north until they meet with the rim of the forest. It is imperative one does not startle the wildlife at this stage, for it may harm the hunt further along the line. Hounds are paramount for their good sense of smell which makes it invaluable in finding the quarry. It then will assist in driving the hunted animal and, when the animal is finally at bay, the dog will either be the instrument of attack, or distract the quarry while the hunter moves in for the kill. Each hunter will be assigned his own role within the group, and they must stick to such in case of compromising such for the rest of the citizens. Once it is deemed fit by the monarchs to depart back to the capital, each will revel in their killings of the day.
