Welcome old GMs and New.

Welcome to the GM team. This is a big step for some of you. With this promotion and position you have been given a lot of power and responsibility. Power such as banning / unbanning players, creating events, power over the forums and TS. As well as given responsibilities such as modreqs, assisting and answering questions over TS, aiding in decisions that will shape the future for the server. You are now one of the faces of the moderating teams. As such you are tasked with having to make unbiased decisions even at the cost of potentially having to discipline an old friend, or stand up for an old enemy.

You are expected to work amongst your fellow GM’s into making the server better.

If you have any problems or concerns, about situations that may have happened, or need / want assistance with anything server related I urge you to PM me over skype or forum. Now lets get take the steps into making the server better.

So some quick rules for any new staff, under 3 months:

1. Do no use world edit, pex, rollbacks, or any other commands that you haven’t been approved you for. The big rule is; if you have to ask or don't know how to use something, then don't do it!! It is much better to tell a player "sorry i have to get someone else to help you" than having to tell the community and staff "sorry I messed up, the server will be down for a day." We are often forgiving with first offenses, so if you accidentally Godmode or creative the server; do a /kick all and report it to the GM work chat.

2. Do not TP friends and people; this is a big no no. We aren't personal taxies.

3.Do not run any large scale events, without the assistance of a senior GM.

After a few months I will talk to the new GM’s and assess if they are ready to no longer be “trial” gm’s. This will likely be over ts.

The rest of the rules are for all GMs:

1. Do not give creative to any players, unless you have admin approval. Remember to clear their inventories before and after. Do /invsee to check periodically. If creative is given to a player, you MUST babysit them at all times. Should you need to go, so does their creative.

- Creative is not to be given for personal builds, nation builds, etc. If a nation needs to terraform or rebuild, or move things, they need to do it with the tools/supplies they have, not creative.

2. Do not give fly to players for personal builds. Do not under any circumstance, GMs are required to build their personal builds without creative or fly, so should all players.

3. Do not give godmode to players either.

4. We do not enchant weapons, if they need an item named; make sure it checks out. But we do not name any items that have to do with beasts, dragons, or other main lore pieces.

5. We do not give out items to players, unless sold through RP. Items restricted are on the restricted item list.

6. Leaking chat, or speaking of information, events, lore; that is kept secret to only the GM team or individual teams; will result in a kick from the staff. What happens in GM chat, stays in GM chat.

7. GM duties, as listed on the Gm chalkboard. http://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/86649-the-new-gm-chalkboard/

Come first. Before any RP, these duties are the first priority. If you are caught ignoring modreq, ban reports or appeal; you will be reprimanded.

8. You must act professionally and maturely on the forums, in OOC chats, IG, and on TS. You are the faces of the staff of LoTC. Flaming, cursing, being rude, excessive trolling, and other non professional actions will result in a reprimand and possible kick from the team.

9. With any and all bans, it is a requirement to PM the person you ban with a copy of your server ban. Your server ban should be written within 10mins of your ban and sent to the player. Also pertaining to appeals and ban; the GM who banned the player is the only GM who can handle the appeal. Also any appeal can be overturned by the admin team. Remember to also speak with players before banning them, often times its miscommunication or interpretation that results in bans. And remember to submit evidence of bans.

10. Any ban appeal made that an ex-gm was supposed to handle can be handled by any GM. Where as an ex-admin’s ban appeal will be handled by the Admin team. This is to promote faster response times to ban appeals. Since we want to not let it sit over people’s heads. As well as we want our players to come back. Faster response times make people happier, and my bestow more faith in the staff team even if it is just a smidge.

11. GMs should remain neutral and equal to all staff members. You are not allowed to handle bans or appeal that have a connection or past connection to you. If you are caught being bias to particular players you will be removed from the team.

.

12. Before doing any removal on minor land scars, un RP coops, or slaughtering farms of crowded animals; leave a sign of forewarning and wait 48 hours. Warning players ahead of time shows your willingness to work with the community on certain matters. Even with bans, it is always good to speak with players first before banning them or making a judgement.

13. If you have any disagreements with decisions made, any show of your disapproval should be made in gm chat, or in the GM section of the forums. This will allow us to look like a team, as well as we can rationally talk things out and take your word into account more. Basically try not to slander a decision made in a public thread. This shows disunion and makes people lose morale.

14. With regions, do not add anyone to them. That is what Region owners are there for. The only time we will add someone to a region is with the asking of a regions particular owner. Since region owners cannot add owners.

General inactiveness, ignorance of modreq, and any of the above rules being broken can result in a kick from the team. There are many players who would love this opportunity to lead the community; so stay active, stay fair, and stay professional.
