A Resignation Proclamation

[Kardel 1054]

A familiar white face appears in Kal'Ithrun, a face not seen for a full year now. The once pale, old, frail dwarf now stands proud and tall, not shrouded in his silk and satin green robes lined with thread-of-gold, but simply dressed in some charred, common rags worn out from chemical accidents and fires. Under his arm he carries a bundle much too large for him, as he moves toward the throne room of Kal'Ithrun.

 

Normally, he would be greeted by the guards and let in with a smile, but his attire did not make him stand out from any other dwarf. The guards treated him like the rest, making him wait in line for his audience with the king. They had clearly forgotten him, and he was almost invisible without those vibrant robes and that distinct clacking sound his cane made as it rapped on the stone under him. 

 

When it was finally his turn, the dwarf was led in in front of the Lord's Council, as there was no current king.

 

"Wut truubles yer citizen?" asked the lords.

 

Kardel smiled, brushing the hair from his face "Every'fin dats been 'appenin wif meh recently."

 

The dwarven lords took a minute before recognizing the former Oghradhad's alchemist, presumed dead for the last year or so. Their faces almost blanched, as if they had seen a ghost. 

 

The frail dwarf dropped the bundle in front of him, as it unfurled. Within the bundle were the ceremonial robes of the Ogradhad's Alchemist, along with three large books, and a golden circlet etched with images of flowers and wildlife.

 

"Ah 'ereboi resoign frum aneh positiens o' powah ah 'old an' disband mah knouledge o' olchemeh frum da Kingdum o' Urguan. Mah dorven olchemeh guild be nae mure. Let dere be un neu Ogradhad's Olchemest, sumun qualified. Ah wuud prefer ye keep ta da guild's traditien o' appointin' un Mastah Olchemest bot ye moight as well appoint Olaf fer all ah care. Farewell."

 

Kardel then gave a small bow, and turned around, setting off on whatever he intended to do with his life.

 

With no Kjell act in place anymore he was now free.

 

Finally, free.

 

((Imma return to LotC! Good for me. These past 16 days have been hard and long, but this hiatus was necessary. Now I return as a player instead of an ET, and intend to remain that way until summer. I wont be nearly as active, that is why I am resigning from any position of power. Also, I'll follow my original plan of playing a wandering mage with this character. See ya all in-game, I guess.))
