How old are you?: - I am of seventeen years of age.

 

Have you ever roleplayed on a minecraft server before? If so, where?: - Yes, I have been indeed as I got averagely seven years of server development experience in Role-play servers, this being in different games and as well as a player, I have played on numerous servers that I rather not wish to name to prevent advertisement of server names going around.

How did you hear about us?: - Through out the means of advertisement and mouth on mouth communication that eventually led me to applying for this Role-play server.

 

What do you think the server will be like? - From what I heard I hope this server to be quite as good as people have been telling me.

 

Have you read and agreed to the rules?: - Yes, I have indeed and I will fully take the consequences for my actions if I were to break /set rules/ that have been laid out for the playerbase.

　

What’s the rule you agree with the most?: - Try to not overuse a resource if it is not in your character’s nature, whether this is harvesting an entire field of wheat and leaving it barren, or slaughtering all of a player’s animals.

 

Reasoning : This is simply because I often see people take more than that they really need in Role-play servers letting their OOC “Hoarding” instincts take over instead of thinking how their character would react.

　

Do you understand combat rules, and what you can and can’t do if you do choose to roleplay as a villain?:- Yes, I do understand these rules and once more as stated above I shall take consequences of my actions if I were to break /set rules/, this also includes for the Villainy rules that have been put in place.

No, there are not I fully understand the rules that have been laid out for the players including me.

 

Definitions

These terms are a major part of the server and in a few of our rules. Please define them so that we can get an understanding of how much you know about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers or check on our wiki, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person!

 

What is role playing?: - Role-play is basically acting out a living being inside a fictional created world that is set in a specific theme, time and so forth and so forth.

You are creating a story that includes those who role-play around you by the means of interacting with the world that is laid out for you and you are supposed to do so in a realistic manner.

The story you create by Role-playing is that of the life of /your/ character his or her life and in order to progress his or her life you are to interact with the world around you.

 

What’s metagaming?: - Meta-gaming is the usage of out of character obtained information or information that has been obtained through the means of powergaming and so on, and so on.. and using it by the means of in-character knowledge.

This will give you and those who Role-play around you and benefit from this information a unfair advantage towards others which is prone to ruin the role-play experience of many around you, as those around you who do benefit from it might be unaware of the fact this information did not belong to your character and so if the Role-play will eventually be voided, (Rendered nihil) or that those who are participating in the usage of Meta-gamed information even may be banned for using it while not being aware it was meta-gamed information and thus ruining their role-play experience as well.

 

What’s powergaming?: - Powergaming is performing or maybe even encouraging the usage of Unrealistic role-play, forced roleplay actions or even Meta-gaming through the usage of unrealistic role play and so on.

 

The way this affects role-play is more or less both Out of character affecting and In character affecting,

 

OOC effect : Powergaming often creates many arguments between both side and lead to the so famous "Flame" wars, where people will often curse each other out till an unreasonable extent, which will in most cases create many grudges between role-players in a certain community and lead eventually to the downfall of an server when of course many other aspects need to be put in place before such happens.

It also affects the behaviour and the role-play experience of /set person/ being accused of the usage of Power-gaming, especially if it is an less experienced role-player who will be prone to leaving the server as soon as he is being "Bullied" by his fellow community members who are not willing to give him or her a chance to improve his or her role-play by showing them how it is done which on the long run will eventually damage the server it's status.

 

In-character : This will often lead to displeasement and the usage of OOC into IC to avoid /set role-player/ who power games which will lead to the creation of groups of "Friends" that are often the people making use of Power-gaming actions or that are Avoiding those who are "Power-gaming", which spreads out the Role-play and eventually drives people away from the role-play spots as it is no longer enjoyable for them in their opinion.

 

In-Character Information

What’s your character called?: - Holt-Bjorn

 

What race are they? (and sub-race if applicable): - He would be of the Human race, being the subrace of a Northeron.

 

What gender are they?: - He would be of the Male sex.

 

How old are they?: - Nineteen

 

Give us a highlight of their past, What life events make your character the person they are today? This is your character's biography. It is also required to include server lore when writing. (Names of towns, major server events, etc. Most lore can be found on our wiki.): -

 

Holt-Bjorn was born in a family of fletchers, him being the third child of four immediately made him the youngest as the fourth child would be his twin sister Hervor and the older two being his brothers Ivar and Gundir both significantly older than himself being of the age of twenty two and twenty three.

His family was considered to be in a lower class of the caste system how ever that did not make them less than whom they believed they were, as their family was always a proud and honorable one, working hard to sustain themselves in the harsh climate of the northern lands and where simply said Peasants, like most around them. Unlike his brothers Holt-Bjorn was more focused on playing around with his sister focusing on creating things out of the snow at a young age, it was around the age of six that a mage saw the two of them play around with the snow and him seeing the joy of the two offered to teach them the basics of evocating water, bending it to their will, this of course caused major uproar from their parents who wished them to be using weapons instead of magic.

Years had passed on end, and while Hervor listened to her parents Holt-bjorn secretly continued practising with the magic while also working on his skills in archery, over time he felt himself to becoming weaker due the usage of magic and felt the need to combine both physical training with the practise of magic so it was not obvious to his parents that he was still practising the evocation of water. After he turned around twelve, he was forced to help out at the fletchers shop where his father taught him the crafting of bow and arrows, leather work for quivers and such needs alike, it was after months of talking to his father that he finally was allowed to "Legally" practise magic in the sense of his father's approval, under the condition that he would do his best to provide the upkeep of his archery skills and continue to hunt for meat, as still despite their hard work and efforts getting food was rather hard and there was little money to provide for such.

Of Course his skills eventually evolved from making trickles of water move around to creating other objects, he was extremely fascinated by the forming of ice and tried his best to work on making objects of water freeze, of course still till this day it needs a lot of practise but it is coming along nicely. Of Course with the money he got from his father as payment which was only what they could spare from the profits he went to find out towards the wise woman from the village, offering her payment in return for lessons on how to read and write.

The reading and writing lessons were provided to a basic standard, but the woman refused to accept the payment and instead wished for a bit of comfort nothing major but just some help around the house and some one to bring her firewood when she would run out. This agreement was struck and so it continued for a few years until the elderly woman had died with a faint smile crossing her lips with the last words that she had enjoyed his company.

While the rest of his years till around the age of eighteen were quite bland and dull like always, he worked at his fathers fletching shop and one day the same mage had passed by, asking him how his skills of the art of evocation came along, upon showing them proudly the mage chuckled and told him in order to hone his skills he had to travel around and see more then just this town, learn about the arts of magic from tomes, books and other people with a protesting father he eventually convinced both mother and father, had a set of fine quality clothes made with what he had saved up in the past years and set out foot, wandering around for months he came back home at the age of nineteen for his name day, before setting out again on his journey.

What are they like? (personality): -

 

He would be distrusting of those around him that he cannot call Brothers or Sisters in his eyes, how ever he does crave the information of the arts of magic and is often willing to go through great lengths of effort to do so, with a mindset put on survival he puts himself and those whom he considers family and kin on the first place along with his own survival, aside of that he is a kind, loyal and hard working person.

This can often bring him into situations that are not very profitable for him due his sense of loyalty, but it does define him the most as he sticks to his words and almost never turns back on them, or those whom he gave his loyalty to in forms of friendship how ever this is hard to earn and the slightest mistake can leave it to be crushed into many shards of broken glass and what they once had would mean nothing anymore.

 

What are their ambitions?: - aside of becoming better in water evocation his wish is to set up a fletchers shop, a bit anti climatic but still his heart longs for such.

 

Do they have any special skills? What are their weaknesses? (Try to list a few of both): -

 

Unless basic knowledge of Water evocation is considered as a special skill then yes, if it is not considered a special skill then no.

 

As far for his weaknesses go, they will be stated below :

His great distrust of people ends up with him often being alone and becoming paranoia, a generally harsh attitude towards them that brings him into trouble, how ever his craving for knowledge can be considered to be a strength it can also put himself into great positions of problems, the more someone knows the better of a subject of torture he makes is it not?

While those weaknesses are all nice and dandy, his greatest weakness would be the fact that he seems to be oblivious to a lot of things around him making him miss out on a lot of things, being so focused onto one thing he often forgets to keep his eye out on other important things around him.

 

Give us a description of how they look?: -

 

Holt-Bjorn is a stout Northeron of the age of Nineteen and stands around the length of five foot eight, (1.80m), he carries matte black hair that is bundled into a slight pony tail to prevent his locks of hair to fall in front of his jade green eyes.

His frame would be averagely build for a Northeron widely build, with a salmon skin color contrasting his eyes and black hair, he would not be considered an outstanding individual, his face would sometimes be covered in brushes of dirt from the work he does.

Wearing good and sturdy shin-plated boots that would be made to last for a long time padded with furs and sheep wool on the inside, he'd slip in easily with his sheep wool socks, the end of the pipes of his trousers are tucked into the rim of the boots to prevent snow from slipping into them and wettening the insides of his boots.

Over his trousers he wears a thick made out of sheep wool and furs padded over coat to prevent him from getting cold during the harsh weathers outside of shelter, the significant dark blue color distinguishes him slightly from the others, a good firm brown leather belt seems to keep his pants and coat on its place, putting the weight of the thick and heavy clothing onto his hips and thus relieving stress off his shoulders.

Under the coat a tabbert like shirt could be seen with the iconization of a bear onto it that had been crudely been painted onto it by himself, as he is not an artist it looks like a vague blob of black paint.

Is it weird to say that I don't know who you are, but I love you?  That was an excellent application, and I love seeing how much time you put into it!
