Some people, you can call them philosophers, you can call them scientists, or you can call them crazy, have a theory. They theorize that there are some people who are connected to each other via another force, an outside influence. That even if these people never come face to face, the simple action of existing and coming to 'activity' at the same time links each one uniquely. Most of these people are either burned at stake or sent to mental hospitals. But hey, who knows? Maybe they are right... Their paths never crossed. Their eyes never met. Yet many people claim that these people (and several others) were connected in a way that could not be broken. For they lost many things and never reached many goals. Kristian was barely remembered by history. He was simply a soldier, a name on the page. Yulnii would never exterminate all mages. How could she, when magic was so prevalent in this world? Eleyas would eventually forget everything about who he was and what he knew. It is the way of Fi. Veldryn wouldn't become the world's greatest warrior. And Alfonso wouldn't stop all fighting. However... no matter what happened to them... their eyes shone a bit brighter, for they met their families, created lives for themselves, changed the colour palettes of random high elves, married their loves, and learned many of the world's secrets. 0. That's it... the countdown's over. I'm not too sure how to go through with the rest of this message to you guys, but bear with me, alright? It's weird putting words to the page, even if it's been a plan for a month now. Twenty-seven days ago, I began a countdown. It started with my member title, then I began to exit skype chats with it, make status updates every day at midnight EST with the number lowering by one. A countdown to August 1st, the day that I would leave. Why'd I do that? Well, first off, if I've learned anything while I'm here, if you're going to do anything, you do it with as big of a bang as freaking possible. And causing a good amount of havoc is just fine too. I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy watching the chaos ensue the last few days as a few people puzzled it out. Some discovered the countdown early on, some got overexcited, and I do think a good portion of you believed it was for 4.0 (I do like the optimism, though). I didn't tell anyone because, frankly, I wanted the last days here to be full of fun, not goodbyes. The reason I'm leaving is not because of Thales, or the Fringe, or 4.0, or any of you guys. Quite the contrary. I want to stay here and help as a Team Leader, and help you guys to make this server even better than it currently is. But I can't, obviously. I go on vacation in a few days, and immediately, once I get back it's soccer preseason, drama, and schooling (at my school, in the IB program, junior year is referred to as the killer year). I don't want my grades or school life to be affected by this server in any way shape or form. I can't do three hours of schoolwork while also moderating. I'd let all of you down and essentially become an inactive and poor GM. Now, I'm not gone completely. If you ever want to RP, send me a message on skype, I'm serious. At the moment, this world is a tad jumbled in terms of lore. Cleaning out and denying random pieces of lore will help solidify everything. Have you ever read the Mistborn trilogies? How about Earthsea? Or Discworld? No matter how wacky the situation, or strange the goings on, each of these worlds has a set of rules and pieces of lore and history that they go by. There is a general theme to it. Now, LotC is its own thingy, but it requires rules nonetheless, otherwise new players will be scratching their heads at the four different types of conjuration or the eighteen different breeds of spider people. Oh, and those plants that do everything and the other ones that negate the everything while providing the everything with a way to become the everything plants because of a moss that is apparently growing because... You get the point. Organization is the best tool we have when it comes to creating a world that players can get immersed in.
