A letter is posted upon the door of the Mission Church of Saint Tobias in the Fringe, in the little refugee camp of the humans. It is penned elegantly. "To the inhabitants of this refugee camp, the Crown Prince Robert Chivay, the Emperor Peter Chivay, and all humans of the Fringe, I do not know why you have honored me with this grand position, this newly made position of High Patriarch. Truly though, it is an honor. But- surely you see- I am not the most qualified for this position. The Bishop Henry Horen would have been a better candidate, or any number of Raevir priests. But, who am I to judge the will of the Emperor? I will take upon this task if you so wish it. But first, I must embark on a holy pilgrimage, to seek what answers the Creator will render to me. I must not become another anti-pontiff, raised from priest to patriarch in a single day. Let the Creator grant me the strength and experience I need to govern the church. Therefore, I must head off, to the wilderness of the Fringe. There I will commune with the Creator and see what lessons he grants me. When I return, I will take my oaths from the Emperor instating me as High Patriarch, and begin this task appointed to me. Sincerely, Father Cordal deHerendul." I am leaving for a two week long trip visiting relatives, and this is my IC reasoning. I wouldn't want you all to think I was starting off my reign as High Patriarch with a long bout of inactivity.
