Heff 2460 Share Posted June 22, 2014 This is a flame free environment, and is designated for one on one MATURE conversation between the staff team and the players. The recent bans of quite a few players due to behavioural problems is understandable, let me say the least. But the fact that 3 (or more) people just got banned in one day says something. We need to put a little reign on ourselves, and just think is a perma-ban gonna fix this person's behavoirual problems. No. They should be given a warning or at the most a few day ban. The staff team, not just one admin or mod, has to take a step back and realize that they arent dealing with a bunch of wise old people, but a bunch of rowdy teenagers growing up in a normal environemnt, we as young'uns shouldnt be expected to not throw around insults, because thats what teenagers do. The staff team should not perma ban these people because guess what... an insult isnt gonna take the server down, put a complete downer on someones day, or worse. Its a joke and we need to treat it as such.
Parading2 0 Share Posted June 22, 2014 I just can't believe all I've invested in the server had ended in one dumb joke. People that support my perm ban should realize that it could have just as easily happened to them.

DecoLamb 959 Share Posted June 22, 2014 I could go on at length about such a thing, but part of me finds the recent bans acceptable. The people I've seen get banned have been told to cool it, yet continue. Not to mention many of the things done and said would never have happened if simple civility and common sense were used. Its not about the staff stepping back and realizing they're dealing with teens, most of the staff are older teens or young adults themselves, and even then age has nothing to do with maturity and common courtesy. We're all taught fairly early on to play nice, say please and thank you, use our indoor voices, what bad words are, and to treat others the same as we wish to be. Most of the time as we grow, we push these boundries, constantly trying to see just how much we can get away with. The amount of times I got smacked in the mouth as a child are too numerous to count, and honestly the environment of LOTC makes people rather.. cruel. Myself often included.. I suppose my point that Im fumbling in trying to state is that these people pushed and pushed despite many warnings, yet they continued.. as thus, they were pushed back. Its fine to do such acts with friends.. but not to people that are outside your personal social bubble.. it will always and badly. EDIT: And a small note.. i don't fully support paradings ban. I find him normally rather cool and collected.. But my point still stands.. don't crack jokes that might be offensive with people you don't know.

shiftnative 3103 Share Posted June 22, 2014 These forums have been in a slump for years, many of these banned players have been involved in keeping this slump a slump and I want sunshine and rainbows again. These aren't new players, these are people have been around awhile and should know better - they've all been given the opportunity to appeal via the admin email it's up to them to do so. We have reiterated on how we feel about people being disrespectful or disruptive many, many times and we shouldn't be held accountable for them and their "contributions". Anyway, here's to hoping they prove me and everyone else otherwise. locked
