Can't Resolve Hostname

Hello! I've been gone from minecraft for a VERY long time. I thought since I'm back I'd like to play on my favorite server right? Well when it's loading it keeps saying can't resolve hostname, and when I try pressing join it says "Outdated Server! I'm still on {0}". I'm guessing that means I have the wrong version of minecraft that's currently being used. But not 100% sure. If I am right I'd like to figure out how to get said version the server uses. Any help would be appreciated. Also when I said I'd been gone for a VERY long time I meant longer than a year and was wondering if they'd reset the whitelist and if I'd have to reapply for whitelist.

This server is on the version 1.7.2 and use ip I mostly use: 1.lotc.co 2.lotc.co 3.lotc.co

1.7.2 or 1.7.4 should work

For people getting host errors, the most common fix is to use 1.lotc.co, as most other IP's won't work for those who have it.
