Twas' a mere joke, but to be fair I've heard that Fishing ends up linking users with some really nice content [emeralds, enchanted items, etc.] And I'd wager you have never farmed. Or cut wood. Or smelted metal. Or cooked food. Or bred animals. 1. I have actually farmed, come out to the rurals. 2. I have actually fell timber with a hatchet. Might even have pictures, albeit I am not narcissistic enough to guarantee. 3. You are correct in saying that I haven't smelted metal before. 4. jamesb 218 Share Posted July 23, 2014 Idea! Maybe some areas should have different kinds of fish, and some areas should have little fish and some should have more. Some places I fish (irl) I catch like 1-3 a minute, cause there is so many of them. Also, maybe some fish should be too small to eat? So maybe if you take a boat out to the middle of the ocean, you have a rare chance of catching a large spear fish, etc. Or, if you fish in a lake, by the shore, maybe rock bass, etc? Most of us haven't torn through the fabric of space in order to extract chaotic void energy from another plane of reality to fuel magical spells either... I digress. LOTC isn't meant to be realistic*, it's meant to be fun. It taking 3 hours at Adept tier Fisher to get a stack of fish isn't fun, so something to remedy that, even if it isn't really realistic, would be a good fix. Anyways in response to your suggestions, Parading: 1. A very simple solution to this is, give more xp to fishers. Seems fair enough, XP is going to be balanced soon anyway. 2. Make fish superior to bread. It's either catch more fish or catch better fish, can't have both. I personally think that fish should give more saturation (staving off hunger) than bread, but sate the same hunger. 3. Make it so you catch more than one fish at a time. A good alternative to fish being superior to bread. 4. Fishing weights/sizes don't influence how much hunger they sate. This'd be incredibly awkward to code from what I know... for now let's rule this out. 5. Improve Fishing nets. Seems fair to me! I think it'd be better for them to work off IC time (so you catch some fish every ingame day of, say, 20-40 minutes) rather than 5-7~ hours. 6. Bring back the old Fish variety. Not sure how this'd work with the new plugins, you'd have to get Sporadic to answer here. Know what else i'd like?
