Z'ress sat next to the grove's pool. Her dark eyes locked on the changing water. "Maln." she murmurs as her hands cradle the head of Lanith Oussana. "I have done so much wrong by you. Yet even before then, you cared little for the rights I had done." She sighs and looks to the sky. "May this be a way to repent for my sins against you."

"I was born the daughter of Laila Darkspire and Khel Oussana. A child born in conflict in the midst of battle against the scourge. Maybe Isabella should not have saved me. Maybe my birth was a sign. That day, you and haelun named me. Z'ress Kal'daka Oussana. You had high hopes for me that day. Hopes that you seemed to have lost. As I grew, you stayed cold and distant maln. You taught me very little, leaving my sister Rathina and my brother Aeyruis to train me."

"After a few short years, Aeyruis vanished and you came around less and less. Rathina did what she could to raise me. Only until Buubz kidnap me did you show a faint amount of love for me. Turns out the uruks liked me. Helped me become stronger. I continued my training, soon finding a human boy to become my friend. Haadi. I think it was around this time you noticed something wrong with me. Did you even know cultists used me to hurt Rathina?"

"I doubt you paid much attention to your family back then. No. You were more concerned on making your 'Z'ress Clan'. You left me to learn things on my own. Love for Titania's son was forbidden, so instead we made a pact to forever protect each other's family. You seemed so pleased. Were you just pretending maln? I tried to be your perfect daughter, yet no matter what I did you became more and more displeased."

"I saved New Malinor by taking out a blood shard from a tree, you scold me for getting hurt. I protected our family from the slaughter by the Teutonic Order, you scolded me for fighting them. I fell for a pure blooded Mali'ker, you scolded me for him not being strong. Then. You were gone. My child dead and you gone, I felt more alone than you realize. I found peace with my mate Yuln. Had a lovely son named Lanith."

"I called your spirit to try and show you I was trying to do right. Then you ordered me to do the most despicable thing against my own race. To kill a child. I could not. I swore I would when he was older. I would not commit the most heinous of taboos. It was then I hid. I fled to a remote part of the fringe and soon found myself a new mate. Dak'ir. Sadly his eyes tended to wander and after giving him permission, he left me."

"Yes. I let him leave to find a mate more stable than I. I gave up so much trying to protect my family. My elven looks, my ears, my flesh. I became less than an elf. You never once visited me in my times of pain. Yet I was there when  you died. I was always there for you. Maln, I failed you in so many ways, but I tried. I became physically strong. Even in my last hours, I became more than just your daughter."

"I became clan leader. I became a leader for the dark elves for a short time. I could have accomplished so much, yet you never saw this in me Maln. I hope that my sacrifice will be enough to sooth your spirit. I beg for your forgiveness now. Please, watch over your line, know I have done what I can to raise them right by you, regardless of what they were."

Z'ress slowly stands, carrying the head with her towards the other mali'ker. She looks at each one as she slowly kneels. Her dark eyes close as a single tear runs down her cheek, hidden by her white hair. She did not beg. All she asked was for a chance to be forgiven. For the sins she committed to be removed from her family.

The axe dug deep into her neck, slicing her head off in one quick fell swoop. Blood staining her white hair. Her body soon burned and returned to Dak'ir and Yuln in ashes. Z'ress Oussana was no more. Her memory would live on only.

((It had been over a week since I had Z'ress killed. She was perma-killed in hopes to sate a witch hunt that had fallen over my friends characters. I thank Tentoa and the others for such great Roleplay. Thank you Baconthief for giving me a chance in Oussana, sorry I f-d it up. I tried to keep it standing despite yourabsence. Real life comes first and I thank you for the wild ride this past year. I hope my next dark elf will be just as fun as Laila and Z'ress were))

At home Arveldir kicks his shrine and it topples over into pieces, ashes and burning embers from the incense seeping into the ground. He had used it to quietly pray to Khel for guidance. Now he no longer cares for the ancestor, "As far as I'm concerned, you killed the civilized mali'ker for the barbarians that would kill their own kin. You deserve no place in the ancestral plane."

Dak'ir turns over the urn in his grasp, wiping of a speck of dirt. He stares at it for a long moment in silence before depositing it into a satchel at his side. Shaking his head with a soft sigh, he wanders back into his small tent. "Evagna uns'aa..." He mumbles to himself.
