What’s your Minecraft Account Name?: moali125

How old are you?: Pretty much 17 (on Jan 13th)

Are you aware the server is PG-13 (You won’t be denied for being under 13): Makes sense. I now am.

Have you applied to this server before? (Please link all past applications): I wish I had earlier.

Have you read and agreed to the rules?: Yes.

My previous applications:

https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/120497-moali125s-second-application/

What’s the rule you agree with the most?: It's not strictly a rule, but the fact that moderators have the right to ban people if they see fit. It saves a lot of time - from my experience in previous roleplaying servers - from those trying to find loopholes. Good to see the banhammer is out! Otherwise, the combat rules are very comprehensive and strike a good compromise: the half hour rule is especially reasonable.

Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense?(If so we can help clear it up! You will not be denied for having a question on the rules): One thing I may have overlooked... how many 'deaths' are we allowed until our characters are actually deemed as dead? How did you find out about Lord of the Craft? A good friend of mine that I'd played with on another roleplay server told me of his experiences in your server, and my temptation to join has never ceased since. I've been craving proper roleplay for months, but work has prevented me from even having the thought of looking again for a great server. Guess it was for the better in the end!

Definitions Feel free to Google the answers or browse our forums, but make sure that you write the reply in your own words, not those of another website or person! What is roleplaying?: Simply, to play a role of another being. But - to me - it's much more than that. The confines of modern life very often leave people's roles in society to become a mere blip. Most of us will find ourselves following a set cascade of dominoes that require one for the other to topple: high school. university, job. Whilst others take solace in that regularity, I've never enjoyed the concept of this mediocrity. At least, I may make a difference in a place far from the blocks of grey - in Athera: the peaks of The Northern Mountains, the sweltering reds of Eruthos Caynon, and the undergrowth of the Forests of Adrallan.

Sorry about that. Bit sentimental.

What is metagaming?: (Thank you Google - it's easy to mix metagaming and powergaming up; I wouldn't want to do so, although they are very interchangeable) Any action or method taken based on the knowledge of the player OOC that the character itself does not know of.

What is powergaming?: Roleplaying with the intention to maximise the player's chances at their character's goals, at the expense of camaraderie, story and atmosphere.

In-Character Information Character’s name: Menithrian

Character’s gender: Male Character’s race: Human (Farfolk - biologically Highlander)

Character’s age: Unknown - young adult

Biography (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add server lore, and events that happened to your character so that they don’t contradict history.):

'He [ who becomes Menithrian] is the embodiment of gold as mortal. What greed man or mer may bear, he is its champion.' Codex et Aureum 2:7 (Forgive the lengthy scene-setting)

The sands of the northern-eastern uncharted once held the merchant city of Nar'satya, where honour was meant to be more valued in weight than its fragrant meadows of saffron. Arches of silk span above worn sand paths, as proud as sails. Its bazaars were the city's refuge from tradition, where heritage was caste away, and in its place was ivory from beyond The Abyss, mounts of spice and tapestry from the city's artisans. Gold was the emperor here. With a vellum tanner for a father, and harlot for a mother, Menithrian was born of the lowest castes. His complexion is more fair than not, as his mother was a highlander of Anthos, born in its cloud temple months before the verge. The Holy Oren Empire would not tolerate her promiscuity - and so she was banished. Then known as Marjan (or tanner), Menithrian spent much of his early childhood boiling dyes and became his father's apprentice by ten. His father (Balor) would die by his thirteenth year, supposedly by falling into a boiling vat of dye. Balor had been making one of the emperor's tea garments, which the emperor would now never receive and would want retribution for - a measly commoner with a wench of a mother was worth less than his fabric.

Marjan was very competent, for a boy of his caste, and fled to the place he had remembered being most of a bustle; the Eastern Bazaar. Any guard would be a fool to search a bazaar for a single commoner. Yet, being in hiding left Marjan by the constant cusp of death: any beggar would be trampled by the swarm of feet that hardened the baking sands. By his sixteenth, the orphan had acquired a good hand and pair of ears for picking off the fruits of stalls and information.

The summer of 1483 was the worst of memory for Menithrian: such was the heat that drapes of silk would drip in damp whilst sand would form glass. No doubt this was an omen for the capture of Petrus which made it part the Kingdom of Retanus. This had inspired internal resistance - from all castes - who became increasingly agitated in the melting pot of Nar'satya. Civil war was emerging, and guards had begun to become a bigger presence in the bazaars. Marjan had to take action. Marjan, nearing his seventeenth, would ricochet through the city's artisan's quarter, doing any odd bit anyone wanted, until he came across the Eastern Trade Convoy that would take him across the uncharted west - queerly. It is this part of Menithrian's life which becomes murky and which his age is lost. Suffice to say, his travels ensured he journeyed far and in many places, with the coin that comes with being in such a Convoy. Whether on camel back, on mule, by foot or on corsair, Nar'satva had become a blur to him. What he last heard of the place was in 1485; the civil war had been used as a means to have the city wiped by a competitor merchant city in the region - it had only taken 100 mercenaries to raze. Ever since this news, the Convoy had slowly whittled away, and soon the orphan was once more on his lonesome.

By then, he had happened to be on the outskirts of the Eruthos Caynon. His horizon was a smear of red, as he crawled across the hot bloodstone, and in exhaustion faced multiple hallucinations from what he had concocted: the deity of greed, lust, trade and thieves, as if this supernatural figure would suddenly justify his life's doing. It was thieving that had kept him surviving, as well as trade and the bountiful gold that flowed. He wanted more gold - lusted for the coins like never before. So, he followed the "Golden eye of Menith the new-found deity" (the Sun) and came across the straight of water amongst the canyon - obviously the bidding of Menith. The gaze of greed would sear the merchant, for more, until he took refuge amongst the shrubs of The Northern Mountains; unaware of the undead that lurked in its shadows. After all, the undead to most of Athera were deemed extinct. Nonetheless the Eye stared at its prophet.

Onwards he went, until starvation only let him south enough to emerge near Gimblewood. The edge of his eye caught glimpse of what are the Godfrey Peaks, arms that nestle the capital of the Kingdom of Renatus, Petrus. However, where the sun was most radiant was the Cloud Peninsula. Marjan thought the halflings he encountered were also hallucinations, but it mattered not. He would now be one with his Lord Menith and no longer a mere tanner but Menithrian.

Personality Traits (included strengths and weaknesses): The only dogma that Menithrian holds is his lust for gold and greed in general. Otherwise, he is ruthless and calculated - being in a precinct of beggars and thieves has made these qualities nature to him. He is equipped with enough conviction that most may be swayed by his merchant's charm garnered over the years as a Convoy man. However, his vision for the world will corrupt his pragmatic thought. He is very purposed in his interactions with those around him, whether it be short or long-term, and may neglect companions at short notice if they are in the way of his ambition for coin.

Weaknesses: Menithrian may have fits when in emotional pain or excitement: talk of his parents and gold are known triggers. Bred amongst beggars and merchants alike, it was foolish to hold an easy trust to those people - yet Menithrian had trusted the Convoy to his life: trust is an unpredictable affair with him. His unusual tall height has made him slower in movement than usual.

Ambitions: Menithrian has witnessed how trade and gold - greed- can achieve greatness, and so he will never be content with what he may have. His overall aim is for all to follow the teachings of Lord Menith - the supposed deity of greed, lust, thieves and trade. Even then, he would tax all his subjects mentally and monetarily: he would become an unintentional cult leader (the Cult of Menith) that would not be bound by race or class; for all beings are bound by greed. His cultists would believe Menith provided greed as a means to fill the void created by the affliction Iblees had placed on the four brothers, sons of the Man and Woman of Aegis. Where the Daemon had rid man of immortality, man at least was given his ambition by Menith to strive for it in their 150 years of life.

Appearance (List the extra details of your characters appearance, IE; height & weight): His build is broad, yet not brash. Height is around 179cm. Fair skin tone, with tanned attributes. (Forgive me: I am bad at creating skins and I've had trouble uploading this one up, so I've provided a link for it here: http://www.minecraft...56224/merchant/) Hopefully this is sufficient.
