Cola one 1 37 Share Posted April 17, 2015 What is your Minecraft Account Name?: Colaone1What is your ingame Character Name?: Sammy ConnorWhat is your Character’s Race?: SoutheronHave you read and familiarized with all server rules and the villain rules?: Yes.Links to any previous villain applications (for reference, these can be from previous characters, or previously denied applications to show how you’ve improved): Used to have a few VAs and minor VAs but they might’ve been deleted because I can’t seem to find them in my content. What VA are you applying for? (Lesser Evils, Greater Evils [Greater includes Lesser by default, you don't need two applications if you apply for greater first]): Lesser Evils. Why is your character the way he/she is? What has led them to a path requiring a Villain Application?: Sammy was a simple labourer in a small port town in the south, run by a duke. Sammy was the offspring of a long line of labourers, lumberjacks and blacksmiths, nothing all too fancy by anyone's standards. His father was a labourer as well as Sammy, however his father had been let go a few years back due to a back injury that had prevented him from working any longer, so Sammy had to start working at a young age to maintain his father's lacklustre salary. Sammy's mother was a work at home mother, cleaning the dishes and cutlery, washing clothes, etc. So Sammy's wage was the only real thing keeping his family afloat. Sammy lived above a Tavern in a cramped room with his mother and father, a loud place, but a very sociable area, so Sammy had always had people to talk to and friends to make. One day when Sammy was working down at the docks he had just finished his shift, one of the many average days he's worked at the docks, not an overly eventful day in the least, one of his friends that worked at the tavern he lived in had come down to the docks, informing him that his father had died in his sleep. Sammy simply dropped to his knees and began to sob, shocked at this information as his father was almost the spitting image of health if not for his bad back. 2 years later, Sammy turned 16, his mother found another man and had moved to a decent place, a small house, two floors in the town, and Sammy’s step father was a travelling merchant, earning a decent wage, a kind man as well. Sammy was happy for his mother, however he hadn't spent as much time with his mother and step father as he did his mother and father, the loss of his father had impacted on Sammy strongly, and a close loved one lost at a young age would have this effect on anyone. Sammy moved into the inn that he used to live in with his mother and father, and continued to live a quaint life, working at the docks, drinking downstairs, and quite a repetitive life he was living. One day Sammy had met a pretty girl on his way back from the docks, she looked quite well off, wearing jewellery, an expensive looking dress, looking washed, an unusual aspect by most of the local girl's standards. At this time Sammy wasn't all to washed due to the long hours of arduous work, his clothes were ragged and dirty, his hair greasy and ridden with sweat, at this moment Sammy knew this would definitely turn this girl away, however it spurred her on unusually, they both started talking to each other, though their world's could've been no further apart, they couldn't have been more comfortable with talking to each other. Though Sammy was usually used to seeing girls as simply objects and home workers, it did not show through to her. Eventually, every day after his shift at the docks he met with her, talking of anything they could think of, whether it be Sammy's work at the docks, her day, Sammy's friends, etc. However, even though they had been talking with each other for weeks now, Sammy didn't know who this girl was, why she was so wealthy, why she seemed to like him, but Sammy didn't really care at this point, he only had one goal in mind, but it wasn't love. One day he got what he wanted, in a private place, but not all too fancy. After this he stopped seeing her, having gotten what he wanted, he started walking in a different direction to where he usually met her. Many would have seen this as a very harsh move, and a very sleazy thing to do, but Sammy didn't really think anything of it, as he was raised to think quite differently of women. About a week after Sammy stopped seeing this girl he noticed a large mass gathered at the speech stand of the town, there was someone shouting to the crowd, with a girl standing next to him, as Sammy got closer he noticed the man that was on the stand shouting was the Duke's son, and next to him was a girl Sammy had been all too familiar with, the rich girl from the docks, Sammy remained listening to the Duke's son, still there due to curiosity, after listening to the Duke's son, Sammy had learned that the wealthy girl he used to see was the Duke's virgin wife to be. At this moment Sammy knew that this mistake he made might've been one of his last. The girl he had been with had told her husband that Sammy had been with her through not all too consensual means. A day later and Sammy was in his room above the tavern, packing his valuables, having written a letter to his mother telling him he was leaving town. Sammy heard outside the sound of guards marching and people of Sammy's facial description being taken to the town's castle to be shown to the Duke's wife to be. Sammy knew at this point that he wouldn't make it out of town with this amount of guards looking for him, nor could he explain the situation to the duke's son's so kind attitude. Sammy had thought of an idea, his mother's new husband was heading out later that day with a cart full of mercantile goods, so he put a cloak on, packed as little as he could and head out to his mother's new house. Though Sammy's step father was a decent type of man, Sammy and him didn't exactly see eye to eye, and there was the chance that he would just report Sammy to the guards, So Sammy arrived at his mother's house, spotting his step father's cart. Sammy heard the creak of the house door opening and his step father and mother talking, so he quickly snuck round back, jumped into the cart, and his himself bellow some of the items that were in there. Sammy had been waiting for hours for his step father to head out on the cart, but so far it hadn't happened, so Sammy decided to rest his eyes for a little while. Sammy awoke to the sound of moving wheels and hoofs stomping on the stone floor, they were moving. It had been about 5 minutes since Sammy had awoken and the cart came to a halt, a guard started talking to his step father, all Sammy could hear were murmured voices from underneath all the stuff he was under. Eventually the cart began to move again, and the sound of chain and metal was heard, the gates were opening, Sammy's plan had worked and he was on his way out of that death trap of a town he called home, Sammy would wait for an hour or two then sneak out of the cart and make his way to the capital, start a new life, do something other than labouring, and hopefully not die on the way. Sammy went on to be a nomad for a short time, taking on work where he could as a farmhand, smithy’s apprentice, builder, etcetera, etcetera, however, Sammy wanted more than to just live by what little he could earn, out of greed he began to rob people, not much of a big moral choice for Sammy as he never killed the victims, only maiming them when necessary, buying with what minas he had, he bought a sword, made a few shoddy lock picks with what skills he had as a blacksmith’s apprentice, and a studded baton, continuing into what he sees as a never-ending source of good income through something he thoroughly enjoys. What are his/her motives? What do you plan to gain from this?: Sammy’s motives are minas, and thrill, doing something that could very much end with him having a noose round his neck seems to send Sammy mad with excitement, and if he makes minas in the meanwhile its all the merrier, some would say he’s slightly crazy due to his strange thrill seeking habits, but it is simply a dangerous hobby that he won’t drop any time soon. What moral boundaries does your character have, if any?: Sammy, though quite a greedy thrill seeker, does have a few morals that he tries his best not to breach when making minas, he was raised in an old fashioned gentleman like way, raised to be polite and courteous, however Sammy uses this to his favour when he can, never to harm a women, though he follows this trait quite well, he will not fail to defend himself from a woman trying to kill him, nor maim one that may get him killed by someone else. A moral he picked up himself is to never kill a child, seeing it as an atrocious act of ending a purely innocent life. Sammy also does not, by himself alone, sell people into slavery, however he has no problem with kidnapping, nor ransoming rich people back to their friends and family, however, he will show disdain if a group he’s apart of sells people to slavery, but he will not rat them out, nor not take part in the pay. Sammy tries not to kill unless completely necessary, though he does love his hobby, he doesn’t wish to see people he has no quarrel with killed in the process. What general kind of Villain will you be? (Bandit, Pirate, Raider, Madman, Cultist, Antihero, Destroyer Of Worlds, etc etc…): All around thief, anything that can make him some minas, whether it be highwaymanning, burglary, ransoming, etc.Open Response - Answer at least two of the open ended scenarios below. Do not powergame, metagame, or do anything else rulebreaking or unrealistic. Each scenario is designed with no particular objective in mind and is open ended deliberately. Assume your character is in each position, regardless of their normal situations:-An elderly man with a walking stick(possibly a staff), a middle aged woman in a flowing dress, and a teenage boy with a sword hanging on his belt are walking down the road, with no others in sight that you can tell...-You are about to head out of your house when someone starts pounding on your door frantically. You open the door to see a human woman, dress half torn, a gash across her cheek bleeding, fear in her eyes as she begs you for help. Someone has just attacked her and her sister, killing the sister, and the girl barely getting away and losing him... Sammy grabs his sword sheath and rushes out the door, in the mood to be the heroic gentlemanly saviour he sees himself as, he exclaims. “Lead the way to this man.” She quickly takes his hand, making Sammy feel even more heroic like, hoping this will end in a very happy ending for him. A few brief moments later he arrives to a seemingly dead body, covered in blood, Sammy goes over to the body, crouching down to check if she was still alive, resting his head on her chest for a heartbeat, which to Sammy’s surprise was beating as fast and strong as a healthy heart would, he pulled his head back up, noticing that the girl that asked him for help was as silent as could be, not crying, not checking the body like he had been doing, he slowly turned around to see her holding a loaded crossbow, aimed at Sammy’s chest, the girl cracked a sly smile, saying. “Sorry about this, you’re quite the kind hearted person… But, your minas if you please my kind sir.” Sammy tutted at his rashness, shaking his head slowly, he went to reach for his mina pouch, but before he could he felt a hard wooden thud on the back of his head, falling to the floor from his knees. Sammy began to come to as the two girls were arguing, the girl that asked him for help and the girl that was posing as the body. “What the damn are you doing Laura?! He was going to give us the minas!.” The blood covered girl, Laura exclaimed back. “I’m sorry! I thought he was going for his sword.” The girls continued arguing about how the robbery was acted out, in the meanwhile, while they were distracted, Sammy slowly crawled out of the alley he was taken down, grunting quietly at the pain throbbing from the wound on the back of his head. To some avail, Sammy got away, scathed, but still with a pouch full of minas, and to Sammy’s opinion, that was all that really mattered. -Sitting in a bakery, you hear two men talking in hushed voices upstairs. Sneaking up the stairs, you see a figure robed in black and a Guard. The robed figure is revealing plans to the Guard about an upcoming rebellion. You can’t tell if the robed man is betraying the rebels, or if it is the Guard betraying the town...-There is a knocking on your door, and when you open it there is an angry-looking man standing there, and a Olog standing behind him, eyeing you coldly. The man tells you that you owe 1000 minas in taxes to the local Royals, and had best pay up... Sammy walks to the door, clasping his head after waking up to a painful hangover, he looks to the man as he tells him. “’Ey, you owe his majesties tax men 1000 minas, pay up.” Sammy winces at the woman’s loud authoritive voice, quickly eying the two quickly, seeing that the Olog most likely has no need for a weapon due to his racially brute strength, he carries nothing, the man seemingly carries nothing, but a small bulge protrudes from his side under a dirty looking cloak, quickly knowing that from the look of them they’re most likely extortionists looking to con Sammy. Quickly, Sammy exclaims lazily. “One moment”, closing the door in quick succession grunting at the loud thud. The two outside exclaim and shriek to Sammy, ordering him to open the door. “Oi, open the bloody you ‘oreson!”. Sammy painfully ignores the two shouting at him from outside, his hangover feeling no better, he searches around his messy alcohol stained house for his sword, forgetting what he had done with it the night before. The door begins to thud and creak loudly as what Sammy assumed was the Olog trying to kick the door down, Sammy falls to the floor for a moment, his head feeling like it’s going to explode, muttering curse words under his breath, he then remembers a glimpse from last night, remembering something to do with betting his sword away, a bearded elf woman and a quarrel with a Halfling, but above all his impending problem was that he bet his sword on something, and he didn’t win to his dismay, he’s been on a near winning streak at the local tavern for near to a month, the door’s hinges begin to screech and creak as they near to giving out. Sammy flips over a small table in front of him and picks up a nearby wooden chair as he waits for the door to give way, and so it does, the man with the bulge in his cloak rushes through, bringing out a wooden club in the process, Sammy launches the chair at the man, not aiming for any body part particularly, just hoping to maim him, the chair smacks him in the face, breaking the man’s nose, bruising his face and causing him a few gashes on it. The man stumbles to the ground, seeming to be knocked out, Sammy chuckles to his great feat, but the victory was short lived as the Olog ducked through the door. Sammy’s expression went dull as he muttered a curse word under his breath, the Olog walked towards him, in no real hurry, Sammy tried kicking the small table he flipped over at the Olog, trying to make him stumble, but to no avail, the Olog simply shrugged it off, kicked it out of the way and grabbed Sammy by the neck, all Sammy could do at this time was try to squirm his way out of the Olog’s iron grasp, but to no succession. The Olog then launched his own head downwards towards Sammy’s face, the Olog’s thick forehead hitting Sammy’s delicate lady like face, and to no surprise, Sammy was knocked out cold, everything going black within a split second. Sammy awoke, lying on the floor, bruises and gashes all over his body and his face, his whole house emptied of anything valuable, Sammy simply lay on the floor and tried to sleep away his hangover. -Two Guards are trying to break up a fight between your acquaintance and two Humans.
