What is roleplaying?: Assuming the identity of a character, and forgetting how YOU would react to the world, and instead thinking how THEY would react, based on their history and personality.

What is metagaming?: Using OOC knowledge in-character. You have to be able to separate what you know, and what your character knows. You cannot let personal feelings affect how you character views another character. If someone kills you, and you come back, you can't pursue them with a vengeance, your persona is unaware that it was killed.

What is powergaming: Making an undefeatable character, and also forcing actions on other characters without their consent. Actions such as *Kills you* or using *dodges* over and over again is powergaming. Always give your RP partner ample opportunity to react and respond to your actions.

Runedril was born on the 3rd of Malins Welcome, his parents were overjoyed that they were given the rare gift of bearing offspring, and raised a happy, healthy child. They lived in a large farming communiy outside Laurehlin, in peace. The most they ever had to contend with was a harsh winter. As he grew older, he made friends with his neighbors, grew strong from farmwork, and learned of the outside world from books he got from passing traders. Eventually books no longer satisfied his curiosity, and he bagan saving and planning to set out on his own, to explore the world. First, he decided to visit Ka'Agash, the city of the dwarves, a people he always found facsinating. He arrived in their city, tired and hungry, and went into a tavern to get a room and a meal for the night. Unfortunately...his books on Dwarves did not prepare him to interact socially with the raucous customers he became acquainted with inside. A few drunken words, and the Dwarves were on him like a pack of Lur wolves. They pinned him to a wall, and the leader approached with a crooked knife. Runedril feared that his own guts spilling out would be the last thing he saw. At the last moment however, 2 elven warriors, entered the tavern looking for a drink. They had been in the town buying supplies for their Order. Seeing the scene, they did not draw weapons, knowing that they were outnumbered. Instead, one of them proposed a wager. A drinking contest, between himself and the lead dwarf. The elf man offered his own and his companions equipment if they lost, but if they won, the three elves could leave the tavern unscathed. The leader, already quite drunk, agreed. They sat down and drank bottle after bottle, but the dwarves (already inebriated), did not notice the Elf man slyly pouring the drinks down his sleeves, or behind his collar, or simply distracting them and pouring it onto the floor. An hour later, the contest was over, and the elves left the tavern victorious! Runedril did not know how to thank the 2 warriors, but they shushed him as he started talking, and instead pointed him in the direction of Laurehlin, telling him that Mali'ame ought to be with their own people, not trekking around the world on their own. Now, he sets off on the path back to his native lands, to live and work in the city of his people, Laurehlin.

 

Personality Traits: Quite naiive, his knowledge of the outside world is entirely from books and stories from traveling merchants.

Ambitions: Wishes to find an apprenticeship in Laurehlin, and become a respected tradesman.

Strengths/Talents:Friendly, able to keep up a conversation, loyal. Pretty strong from working on a farm his entire life.

 

Weaknesses/Inabilities: Naive, untrained in combat, but willing to learn.

Appearance (List the extra details of your characters appearance, IE; height & weight): Mid height for a wood elf. 5 feet 5 inches Slender and muscled
