House Bedell of Kaedrin

The line of Ser Alexandros of Cintran

The Black Unicorn of Broinne

Humble beginnings pave way for great men. This saying rings true with the House and bloodline known as Bedell. Emerging during the Chivay reign in Anthosian Kaedrin, Alexandros of Cintran was a loyal retainer to King Peter I of Kaedrin, and was known to have fought in several battles - including the Battle of the Dreadfort and the Sacking of Malinor. Dubbed Ser Alexandros of Cintran for valor in battle and undying loyalty to the Crown, he took the name Bedell as his own and from his seed was wrought two boys.

His elder child, Mathis, went on to follow in his father's footsteps of knighthood whilst Alexander became a ward to a respected lordling by the name of Marcus Briarwood. Mathis pursued House Horen in their exodus from Anthos, and carved out a fief for himself in the midst of the chaos that overtook the Aeldinic Heartlands in wake of the Imperial invasion. To this day, they rule as Dukes of Broinne from their seat at Arves, partaking in Imperial intrigue and providing loyal reserves to the Imperial legions.

Alexander Bedell the Wyrmsbane, a legendary knight and Crownshield to a Carrion king, engraved the name Bedell into the history of humanity. His wife bore him two sons, Mathis II, and Arstan. Warded to masterful families of the Imperium Tertius, the boys were tutored in the ways of state and war. As kings came and dynasties passed, so too did the loyalties of Bedell. With Vailor’s annexation at the hands of the descendant races, humanity once more established its stronghold on the world, taking claim of the entire northern continent. Imperialism gave way to the rise of new states and kingdoms - most importantly, Kaedrin, the ancestral home of Bedell. Gifted land and titles for their pledged service and long-standing loyalty to the race of man, Bedell once more finds itself seated in Kaedrin, bringing glory to the line of Wyrmsbane and its liege, the Magnate.

Holdfasts of House Bedell

Roseden-by-the-Sea, a shining example of  the lavishness of Auvergnian culture melded with Kaedrini architectural styles; Roseden and her towering spires rise above the Bay of Redmark, in the southeast of Kaedrin.  Known for sprawling vineyards and orchards, it stands as a haven for culture.

The Line of Alexander

House Patriarch and Lord, Arstan Bedell, the First of His Name, Baron of Thornewood and Holder of Wyrmsbane; Scion of the Black Unicorn of Broinne. Bearing a mane of sun-kissed locks, tall, and broad of shoulder - he stands a spitting image of his father Alexander, and has proven himself a capable fighter and knight whilst in the care of his uncle Mathis. He is renowned for winning several tournaments in the Duchy of Broinne and the greater Heartlands at large. (Played by daelaris)

Lady of Broinne, Ethel II Bedell, second of her name, lady of Arves and maiden of Broinne. Black locks of hair drape her shoulders, hiding eyes of an emerald shade. Raised a lady of the state, Ethel is the foil of her warrior mother, and displays her eldest brother’s mannerisms through and through. (Played by Forkology)

Heir-apparant and Lord, Mathis II Bedell, the Second of His Name, Knight-Castellan of Arves. Hair of a sun-bleached shade and thinly built, his purpose is of state and war. Zealous and righteous, he was raised a chancellor, to be seated in Arves, the citadel capital of Broinne. The twin of Arstan. (Played by mth_dew) [Missing, Presumed Dead]

The Baseborn, Francis Thorne, born with the stain of bastardy. The product of an illicit relationship between Alexander Bedell and a noblewoman born of one of the many masterly houses within the Imperium Tertius - he proves a black stain upon his line in both appearance and mannerisms. Squat, stocky and far from comely, he bears a thick head of ashen blonde curls and is little more than a bloodthirsty wastrel over-eager to prove his worth. (Played by Lynxy)

The Line of Mathis

Heir-Apparent of Broinne & Castle Arves, Robert Bedell, a rather undistinguished and content member of the household is a known expert of accounting and stewardship - his sword arm not far off for his station, either. Bearing the quintessential looks of his family - although turned ashen by age - he is a stern and coldly polite man ofttimes considered a crude idealist who is pragmatic in his methods of introducing them. He's proven himself a man of family values and is most always ready to pitch counsel at his cousin's table. (Played by Henselt)

The Squire, Edwyle Bedell, youngest son of Mathis Bedell. Akin to his two elder brothers in his appearance, he bears the same golden locks and sharp features as his late father. He is currently squired underneath the tutelage of his cousin, and has aspirations of Knighthood. (Played by CheekyNolan)

The Fanatic, Reynald Bedell. (Unplayed.)

The Runt, Alys Bedell. (Unplayed.)

House Heirlooms

Boneshorn Circlet, a circlet of ivory, inlaid with ebony gemstones and a golden trim. The circlet is said to be carved of dragon bone, forged in the days of Alexander’s great hunts. It is worn by the patriarch of House Bedell, and represents his lordship over his kin.

Drakeskin Shawl, a cloak cut directly from the hide of a drake. It holds an inky, ebony hue and seems to drink in the light; casting an unearthly shadow in it’s wake. It was commissioned by Alexander Bedell; a trophy claimed from one of the many wyrms he slew.

Wyrmsbane, a longsword forged of dark steel, and adorned in a drape of crimson and onyx silk. An Imperial gift forged for Ser Alexandros of Cintran, it was the favored weapon of Ser Alexander Bedell. The blade is razor-edged and feasts in sunlight, dressing it in shades of illumine color. Traditionally wielded by the greatest warrior of House Bedell or the patriarch.
