What is roleplaying?: Emulating an alternate personality within a set context and platform to produce a narritive experience.

 

What is metagaming?: Utilising OOCly gained information ICly, aka real world common metallurgy knowledge as say a baker or something.

 

What is powergaming?: Essentially god-modding, dealing in absolutes. I -do- this, that happens. No chance for others to respond or contest. Turns an interaction into a one-sided narrative where the powergamer has all the control.

Character’s name: Oliver Faelin

Biography: Oliver was born into turbulent times to a farmer and his wife in the farmlands of Oren, and lived his childhood years in relative peace and prosperity following the wars end. His memories of growing up in Montfort are few, but happy; He worked the earth with his father, and travelled with him to markets to sell their produce, making sure he staying to get schooling: Oliver' parents were very keen to see him move up in the world. Unfortunately, the exodus to Vailor put a stop to that, with all the family wealth invested in re-establishing their farmstead in the grasslands west of Brelus.

 

It was then, therefore, that Oliver began to make a living trapping and hunting game in the lush forests surrounding Adria. His learned his skills at first from his father, then more from other woodsmen he would come to know from his exploits. Still a young man, he made good money for his family by taking extended trips into the richer woods, returning with excellent hauls. He met many unsavoury characters (read: bandits) during his independant years, but never lost his sense of discovery, despite losing his money. Over time, he found his hunting skills transferred well to endeavours of a more bloody nature, culminating when he saved his mother from a theif at their farm and shot him dead.

 

Soon after, Oliver decides to become a mercenary and fight with the Adrian forces in the rebellion against the crown; the pay is good, the training is great, and he thirsts to see more of the world, be it in flames or not. After the war is lost at the seige of barrowyk, Oliver leaves his now-aimless warband, striking out west to seek his fortune in lands anew.

 

Personality Traits: Optimistic about the world despite being a cynic. Calm and Inquisitve, naturally suited to bushcraft. Perceptive, likes to be quiet, knows when to be loud.

 

Ambitions: Despite a vague sense of wanderlust, Oliver has never aimed for lofty highs nor rarely wanted for more than to see the next sunrise. If he lives to see another day, he considers it a success.

 

Strengths/Talents: A wily knack for survival, both in battle and in nature. A fairly competent fighter, adept archer. Skilled woodsman. 

 

Weaknesses/Inabilities: Teamwork; 'a lone wolf'. The years of independence made it hard to synergise with others. Etiquette and politics; He has lived a simple life and has little grasp of more 'refined' living and social protocol.

 

Appearance (List the extra details of your characters appearance, IE; height & weight): Slighty shorter than average height. Athletic build. Not as clean shaven as the skin implies (I r bad at skins).
