Update On The Oren Guard:

News: We have ourselves a new recruitment officer, Hayden. I decided to bring about this position to take the work of recruitment off of my shoulders. He does not, however, have the authority to promote recruits to full guards. His role in recruitment is to solely teach the new guys the basics. He will also be writing handbooks and rulebooks which will be distributed to all the guards.

- We also have a new blacksmith apprentice, Darfin. The blacksmith's building has been cleaned up and Darfin should now be situated there.(With the new skills system having someone who can repair armour will be most helpful). We will happily repair any leather armour or smelt and ore's for free whilst he trains and gets some experience under his belt.

- I recently finished building the new recruitment office.This is where Hayden will be situated and also has the guard handbooks and rulebooks. Along with a board with all guards names and a notice board. The old armoury has been knocked down and replaced with a better looking,sturdier one. Visit the shop inside to see what we are buying and selling. Overall, the military district has been cleaned up and is looking better. Room's are now being allocated to all the guards, contact me if you want to be set up with one.

Recruitment:Due to the lack of archers and the excessive amount of guard recruits, mainly because we now pay. We have postponed recruiting guards temporarily. However, we will continue to recruit archers and I am looking to re-build the archers. There is currently no commanding member of the archers so keep in mind if you think you'r good enough and can prove yourself with skill and commitment. Then why not go for it? (All guard's and recruits will have to train up their sword skills to at least 30 to enable the use of iron swords. I'm thinking of implementing the same to all archers but I have yet to see what perks are involved in doing this.)

Also, please do not judge the Oren Guard on the actions of it's recruits!

Pay:Just a small reminder on pay. All full guards and archers will receive 500 Minas a week unless otherwise notified. For example, if I do not think you are on duty enough and you are not doing your job well, then I may choose for a deducted wage or no wage altogether.

Is there some kind of scout group who are a cross between archers and guards ? but don't guard and get more involved in the pre battle and spying style of fighting?

The Rangers used to patrol the North and fight bandits on the King's Road, but their leader died (was banned) and they since have faded. They may soon be reinstated, though, so if you want to become a Ranger, talk to Lady High Constable Atriana.

Exactly. Oren Guards will ensure that the laws of Oren are followed within the cities, while the Oren Rangers will ensure that the laws of Oren are followed in the wildlands and on the roads of Oren.
