Coming back and a few doubts

My name is Arthur and I am brazilian, currently studying at university (physician school) and my character was accepted in 2012. I had to stop playing due to the lack of time back then (studies and such) and the feeling of "disability" to complex roleplay. I was more of a casual roleplayer and still am because I haven't got much time (right now I'm on vacation) both to read plenty of lore and play and also my english isn't perfect enough to fully understand complex roleplay scenarios.

However, my friend was accepted recently and because of that I decided to go back and try again. We really enjoy roleplaying and I'm quite excited for this. There's a problem though...

 

My old character Elron was a mix of ideas based on Grog from Legend of Zelda, I liked the whole aspect of rping a depressed person with his discontent for the world and people, but the fun and critic part of loving a chicken rather than someone or his own family. He was a 210 years old High elf. However, when I roleplayed, I found it was quite hard for me since I liked to talk. So I decided to change it with its experiences of life. Right now I'm more into the life of a biologist focused in plants and study of species, change that could have happened after Elron went to a secluded life in contact with nature and decided to see diversity with different eyes, turning him into a more acceptable, peaceful and less teenage-like arrogant guy. 

My question is: is this possible? I decided to start making a new application for him... Should I make a new character or can I send an application with this new personality?

I also don't know about his age... He was 210 back then and now, counting the time, he should be somewhat by 290... Is he old enough to have and old elf appearence (like my profile pic)?

I'll try to discover about Vailor biology by reading the lore... but do you think it would be powergaming to make a character that knows these things and also gives his opinion to renowned scientists in the high elven society without having too much contact with society? Do I need a very complex and deep knowledge of english? I study biology in real life and know cell metabolism, botany, biochemistry and scientific methodology quite well (I study a fungus :P)...

The last question: Can I casually roleplay this character only when I have free time? Do you think it won't be possible and I should skip to a more general type?

You shouldn't have to apply for this character as, you don't have to apply for every character you make, only magic, or special races. I don't think it would be powergaming for you to know these things, as long as your character learned these things sometime in life. Seeing as Elves live to about 1000, I don't think he would have the appearance of an old elf, unless something happened to him to make him look old, but you could figure something out to make him look like one. You could RP this guy casually as its not a guild owner or anything so you don't have to be active all the time. Or you could could make an orc and be Sandking's friend as he is also Brazilian.

My suggestion, is to beocme a druid. They typically deal with plant-nature like objects/entities. (From what I know anyway lol.) And.. since he was around 210, back in 2012.. he should be around; 366 years. (1 IRL week = 1 IC year.)

Thanks for your opinions. I might keep up with this character and try to become a druid. If i don't feel very comfortable, might create another. About the age, I searched the wiki to check current time and the time of the other worlds, but thanks! 366 years it is then
