The Great Uggg Sculpture Contest

> Hello all citizens of Aegis! I, Uggg, will be sponsoring a very large competition to be held throughout Aegis. Aegis has many beings of different races, and nations. And Uggg wants to see just how patriotic each nation and race can be. I will be travelling to each kingdom to discuss this with the leaders. Some of whom I really do not wish to deal with personally, so I'll be sending a messenger to the Undead. The Great Uggg Sculpture Contest will be held over several Aegian years(appx 2 weeks IRL). But, first I must contact each nation to see if they are so suited to host their leg of the competition. This is how Uggg will have the competition operate:

>

> - This competition will be to see who can build the best sculpture in all of Aegis. You can build whatever is held nearest and dearest to your heart.

> - There will be two parts of the competition. The prelims, and the finals.

> - The prelims will go as such:

> - You must first contact Uggg and enter your bid to build. You can do this by either replying to this message(post reply), or find me around Aegis.

> - All contestants must then pay an entrance fee to Uggg of 300 minas. The reason for the entrance fee is to make sure the highly valued prize that Uggg will present to the winner will not be wasted on someone not worthy.

> - All contestants MUST build their sculpture at their Capitol. All members of each nation/race will/can be represented.

> - Each Kingdom should set aside areas large enough for this temporary building contest. It can be outside your castle walls if the King/Queen/Prince

>        should so feel abliged. Another idea would be for each Kingdom to set aside mulitple areas around their Capitol to allow for multiple builders.

>        - Your sculpture must represent something near and dear to you or your kingdom. Any sculptures that represent OOC offensive subject matter will be      an immediate disqualification.

>        - Each contestant will get an area of 15x15 blocks to build in. You must not go outside your area, but you can go as high as you need to.

>        - You must also light, and label your work with torches/signs.

>        - You must NOT destroy nature by leaving floating trees near your work. Patrol your area, because Uggg is the Eco Terrorist and you will be     disqualified if you do not keep your nature looking spectacular around your work.

>        - The prelimary rounds(prelims) will be hosted over a period of 1 week IRL. This will allow for all creatures of Aegis, regardless of timezone to partake in    this grand competition.

>        - After Uggg deems the prelims overwith, 48 hours will be given for each nation to vote. Votes will be tallied and a winner chosen. Votes should be only        given once, and only for the builders in your Kingdom.

>        - The winner of each Kingdom will then proceed to a neutral area for the finals.

>        - Each contestant is responsible for disassembling their sculptures. UNLESS the ruler of the Kingdom decides that your sculpture should be rebuilt, at  which time they should commission its building, but either paying for it in its current location, or having you rebuild it in another.

>        - You will be IMMEDIATELY disqualified for having a GM spawn your items you need. All block types can be used, but you must obtain them albeit  through trade, or mining. GMs/Admins will also be disqualified if they spawn their own items. The ONLY exception would be the use of lava, being        that it has to be spawned by GMs or Admins. I'm hoping that we can all bring up the maturity level given the extreme nature of the prize involved.

>        - Griefing even with a villain app will be grounds for disqualification.

>

> - The finals will go as follows:

>        - A neutral location TBD will be chosen and same rules for the prelims will be followed. Perhaps a deal can be worked with one of the Kingdoms to       host it there. If none of the leaders are feeling generous, then I will determine the location. ((Perhaps with Admin/GM assistance))

>        - You can either build the same sculpture or choose a new design.

>        - This round will also run for 1 week to allow for all citizens to travel to the neutral location and visit your work.

>        - At the end of this round, 48 hours will be given again for all votes to be given and tallied.

>        - The finals will be at a NEUTRAL location.. this means that YES IC we will know who the undead are.. but being that is in a neutral location, it will be       a DMZ(De-Militarized Zone; no combat allowed PERIOD!) for the competition. Any violation of this will result in disqualification. Also, just because a  person is representing the Undead, doesn't mean that they are Undead themselves, so therefore you won't be able to use it later to attack them on       site. I'm putting this out there now so that one of you doesn't try to bring it up later and try to start a fight over it. The only fair way to do this is to open      up the competition to the ENTIRE server and that includes the Undead.

>        - For the finals, each contestant will be given an area that is 20x20.

>

> OH the PRIZE... I almost forgot... The prize given will be that your stance in Aegis will be lifted to much higher heights. ((The prize will be that I am donating a VIP membership to the winner. If for whatever reason, I decide at any point in time that I am severly impressed with a sculpture that perhaps didn't gain that many votes, I reserve the right to award a second prize. But, I highly doubt this will happen. I am hoping that we can all be mature and vote based on work and design and not have this turn into a popularity contest. Which is why I am taking myself out of the decision process and leaving it up to the server to decide the winner. If you are already VIP, then we'll have to look at another option. I'm open to suggestion. Also, ADMINs/GMs I hope you participate too, although if you win, I'm also not sure what we can make your prize.

>

> The reasoning for requiring you to build at the Capitol of your Kingdom is to try and boost the economies of each Kingdom. Right now, everyone moves from city to city depending on whichever one is the most popular of the week. Hopefully we can bring some life back into some dead Kingdoms.))

Good news though... I've been in contact with the Kingdom of Alras and the High King has agreed that his Nation would be glad to participate. And from the sound of things in Alras, I think they already have the outcome decided.. Who shall step up and challenge them? Because Unless the other Races/Nations step up and agree to host their nations competitors.. the competition may have to be slightly modified.

I've just contacted King Algrim of the Dwarven Kingdom and he has agreed to give his support. I have also talked with the Orcs and they are thinking about it. THey are hestitant because of the lack of building knowledge that most of my Orcish brothers possess. But I feel that they will see the prize and forget this notion and join the rest.
