Chat problems

My chat has been acting up the past day. I spoke to a mod about it and he tried everything he could and it's still broken. He told me the best thing to do is contact a tech but the techs I knew weren't online. The problem is that I can't see anything that people are saying, and that I cannot chat either. Whenever I try to chat a message comes up in red saying 'Cannot send chat message'. Please help me fix this, as I am a busy roleplayer and have alot of events to attend.

This issue was presented to the Developers and it was confirmed that it is not a server side problem.

In order to solve this, you will need to follow a few simple steps!

 

1. Open Minecraft so you are on this screen;

 

 

2. Click on "Options..." and then "Chat Settings...";

 

 

3.  Make sure that your setting are similar to these;

 

 

This should fix your problem.
