Out-Of-Character Information

What’s your Minecraft account name?: xXninja_mageXx

How old are you?: 16

Are you aware the server is PG-13 (You won’t be denied for being under 13): I am aware.

Have you read and agreed to the rules?: I have read and formally agree to all mentioned rules of both the server and the forums.

What’s the rule you agree with the most?: The sensible rules of war. Combat, and revival with no particular favorite, but a list of favored including, but not limited to: the cost of war and reasonable restrictions that come with battle such as cost and ammunitions, the rules of skirmishes and pvp battles, and the rules of capture when it comes to both leaders and entire factions.

Are there any rule(s) that confuse you or don’t make sense? (if so we can help clear it up!): A few of the pvp rules are a little confusing, but I plan on reading over them some more to get a better understanding and will contact the staff if I still have trouble.

How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: I located the server when browsing specifically for roleplaying servers.

Definitions

The following definitions were either previously known or explained sufficiently in the forums.

Role[playing- The act of roleplaying is when a person takes of the persona of a fictional character (in this case in a fantasy scenario) for means of pleasure (not to be linked with the devious attempts of identity theft or any likeliness) and living out the life of that character in a fictional society.

Metagaming- This can be defined as type of “breaking the fourth wall” in a roleplaying event when a person has information that their character couldn’t possibly know for one reason or another and yet the character acts upon this unknown knowledge (i.e. a roleplaying event taking place during the fall of Rome, and the character knows where to be at exactly the right time beyond coincidental occurrence to benefit the most from the fall of an empire that has yet to occur)

Power-emoting (Powergaming)- When during a roleplaying event, the actions of a character are twisted to control that of another unwillingly (not to be linked with voodoo, mind control, or other types of in-game power over a character) whether it be as severe as killing off another player without their knowledge or acceptance or as small as making a character eat a cake. (i.e. “Mojo jo jo baked a cake for the Doctor that was so delicious he ate it up in one gulp.” Saying the Doctor ate the cake would be controlling the actions of another player.)

In-Game Character Information

Character’s Name: Edith Cole

Character’s Sex: Female

Character’s Race: Heartlander, Human

Character’s Age: 28

Biography:

Born in winter of all times,  Edith was born. And she can never forget it. “Do you know the trouble you caused us?” was one of her mother’s favourites. Or even, “We nearly starved trying to raise you!” But only her. None of the harsh words were ever ushered to any of her other five siblings. Though her mother claimed to never play favourites, it was clear she favoured her eldest and cruelest of them all- Charity. What a joke! Charity was anything but, with her constant I’m-better-than-you sneers. Edith would rather play “bloody knuckles” with her four brothers. Or better yet, spend time with her father.

Though her mother was a witch, Edith’s father was a gentle man despite his rank as a guard. And he loved his children.  Each and every one of them. And Edith loved him more than anything else. Naturally it crushed her when he died. They say the life of a guard isn’t a long one. At least not one who’s always in on the action. His death crushed the not only Edith, but her family. Her mother had to take longer and longer shifts at the market stall and all the children had to pull their own weight. And still, the family was starving. So what to do except get rid of a mouth or two? At the age of fourteen- one year after her father’s death- Edith ran away. As far as the family knew. The story from Edith’s point of view was a wake up call in the middle of the night, a quickly patched satchel, and a mother telling her to leave and never come back. So she left. And never looked back.

After living her fourteen years of her life in Laurelin, it was hard leaving home. But she found her way with a little help. After only three months of living as a beggar child, she ran into someone. An old friend of her father’s that used to be a guard and now raised a family in Krinfird.  He took her in and said she could stay, as long as she worked hard. And she did, pulling her own weight just as before except under kinder guidance. For six years she lived among them- her father’s friend, his wife, and his daughter- before making her own way into the world and setting off to seek what she most desired. To become a guard. This, however, did not come easy. Lorraine? Spend two years training working part time as a farmer. Denied as a guard. Istria? Three more years of training working where work was needed. Cutting word here, tanning leather there. Denied as a guard. Savoy? Another three years of training and nearly starved to death trying to focus on her training and nothing else. Denied. It was only a matter of time before she was accepted. Next stop? Felsen. And this time she WILL succeed! Perhaps a year as a merchant and more training this time? Then she’ll apply once again.

Strengths/Talents: Edith is one of the hardest workers and most determined people you will ever meet. After years of training, she’s built up a fair amount of muscle and skill and is willing to challenge anyone who comes her way to a sparring.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: Edith has spent a good portion of her life trying to be guard and with her determination you would expect she would have become one by now. But no. And why is that? Probably the gimp leg. Having a bad leg doesn’t really make hard work or training easy. No enforcement wants a guard that always has to have a walking stick.
