The Search for Lost Parents

~1561 - the search begins~

“An-andrian! Y-you know w-what you have t-t-to do t-today, d-dear. It’s time t-to g-get up and g-go.” Tsaer stuttered as he stumbled upstairs, his walking stick hitting the railing with every thud.

“Ehmnm,” Andrian groaned, rolling over in her bed, her legs almost falling off the edge, “okay, okay. I’ll get up, but you know I don’t want to do this. I don’t even know why you’re sending me.”

“Come, come. L-let uncle T-Tsaer t-tell you what y-you have t-to d-do.” he opened the door with his hand, the noise of his stick hitting the worm-eaten wood echoed down the empty hallway.

“Wwwwhat.” she groaned again, her eyes instantly rolling as he sat down on the rocking chair beside her messy bed.

“Y-you have to f-find your p-parents.” no hesitation as always, always so stubborn and straightforward, but somehow this is what made him such a loving guardian to Andrian. It was a shock. Her expression changed from a sort of ‘leave me alone. I want to sleep in.’ look to more of a shocked, sad, angry look. She was obviously very confused.

How would she leave all of this love and affection. It was too much. Too much to handle in her eyes. “Parents? I thought they had both been imprisoned or tortured for being ‘impure’ as you said?” Andrian whimpered.

“N-no, y-you must go, child. Y-you must d-do what is ri-r-ight my child.” he stood up from his chair, tossing a red cloth cloak adorned with a golden silk sun. His eyes glazed over as he stared out of the window, seemingly making Andrian do the same. Andrian took the cloak, stood up from her bed and walked to her uncle. She hugged him. Possibly the longest time she had ever hugged anyone.

“I shall miss you…”

“R-remember m-my child, kaean'leh e-evareh.” Tsaer smiled, ushering her on her way.

Arriving in Haelun’or, Andrian took a few last swigs from her flask. She had not imagined this illustrious city to be her new home. She didn't know if she'd even find her parents nor if she'd see her uncle again.

Snapping from her thoughts, Andrian walked over to the closest building. She looked up at it’s blue architecture - quite a sight. Fee strolled in, her cape flowing behind her as she looked up at the long ocean coloured chandelier hanging over one of the empty tables. It was clear that this place was some sort of tavern or inn. Her gaze swung around the room, scanning its contents. Even though she was rather hungry, she avoided the counter and headed down the stairs that were next to one of the tables. Once at the bottom of the stairs, the cold from the stone brick almost froze her feet. She was thankful for her heavy black boots. Andrian noticed two rooms: a small, comfy sitting area with a fire, and a corridor with lots of rooms to stay in. She almost immediately took the path to the hallway, but began to walk into the comfier room to get some rest.

After enjoying a long doze, Andrian sat up on the sofa and warmed herself in front of the fire.

“Karin’ayla?” a distant voice spoke, startling Andrian. She shuttled from her seat. Her eyes hitting a tall, pale haired, male Mali. His eyes hit hers. They both stared until Fee decided to speak up“It’s night time, llir.” she chuckled, walking over  to him. She took a seat on the arm of the sofa, “Ker’ayla.”
