How did you find out about Lord of the Craft?: I've been looking for a suitable RP server since early 2015, and by chance I came across this website just today.

 

In-Character Information
Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character that you actually want to play.

 

Character’s name: Jester or Jes (preferably). Fullname is Jester Adams.

Character’s sex: (male or female?) Male

Character’s race: (you can find all the playable races here.) Human, Highlander.

Character’s age: 21

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add three references to the server lore.): Little Jester was birthed in the year of 1545, only a couple years after the Orenian empire besieges the dwarven fort Rhewengrad thus making the fort crumble. Being born in Felsen opened up many opportunities for the young lad to learn and explore different cultures. His father, Jackard Adams, was the owner of a small tavern along with his wife (Hanna Adams) that was known for it's good ale but horrid food. The bright eyed and bushy tailed young lad loved to go adventuring around Felsen, sometimes too far for his own good. He'd often see himself in trouble whether it be by his loud-mouthed nature or his intense curiousity for all things unknown. The people that knew his family well wouldn't call him a bad kid, however those looking in from the outside considered him to be nosy and obnoxious. He lived a sheltered life because his parents wanted to preserve as much of the outside cruelty from him as they could. But because he was so curious, that was doomed to fail from the start. When he was old enough, (year 1555), his mother and father had a huge talk with him about leaving Felsen by himself one day, and that he was going to do wondrous things. Being young still, he thought nothing of it. Jes never really understood what was going on in the world. It wasn't until his father was called out to fight in the war, while his mother was home extremely ill. In the same year, he lost both his mother and his father. Unsure of what to do, he set off from Felsen into a whole different world.

 

In his travels from Felsen Jes found himself in many small villages in order to take refuge for the time being. He never stayed long because he never had a reason to unless there were many who passed through. During this time he learned how to defend himself all the while getting himself in more and more trouble. He first went to Savoy unknowingly, but willingly thrown into what he thought was a mind boggling place. There he met a great adventurer who claimed he was nameless. He told great stories of his travels from Kal'Ordholm to Krinfird. That was another crucial turning point in Jester's life that made him who he is. He was to travel to all the lands in order to tell breathtaking stories to those who would listen.

 

Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?) Jes can be described as a loud-mouthed, ignorant, opinionated kid. He acts like a child. Likes; Sweets, stories about adventures, like-minded people, and most of all he enjoys talking to a wide range of people. Dislikes; People who use brute strength to get whatever they want, rude manners, liars, rules (though he reluctantly follows them).

Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?) He wants to learn everything that he possibly can before he dies his early death. The world is huge and being a mere Highlander would teach him only a small fraction of it.

Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?) Mostly he just likes to talk his way out of things. He's considerably good at understanding the things around him that most would ignore. Also not bad at hand-to-hand combat. He devoted his life to really understanding things, his body being one of them so he knows how to control his body very well.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?) Not saying everything that comes across his mind and respecting others opinions. He hates using weapons and would much rather talk his way out of situations that he gets himself into.

Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?) Jes is 5'3, lanky, Muscles are visible though not bulging. Child-like in appearance but he's on the lean side considering he has a high metabolism. His hair is white and considerably thick. It goes down to his ears about. No scars but very pale skin. Light brown/ almost amber eyes and a clear complexion despite being a highlander.

To answer your question, cliche's are frowned upon because they cause for boring and repetitive role-play. Many applicants try to play a talented assassin, or someone who's parents were killed by orcs and wants revenge, etc. When everyone tries to play these uncreative and obsolete characters, roleplay dries up. But when everyone plays a unique and well-rounded character, LotC is plenty enjoyable!

 

Please make the following changes,

 

- Your character cannot be 21 if they were born in 1534, as the current date is 1566.

 

- The siege of Rhewengrad happened in 1537, so Jester would have been born three years before the siege, not after.

 

- 1519 comes before 1537, so Jester would not have been alive in 1519. I think you have the dates confused!
