What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying is when you take on the morals, norms and personality of another person/character and act out as them.

What is metagaming?: Metagaming is most commonly when you act upon information you have gained out of character, in character. For example you get told over Skype your friend is getting robbed, so you rush to his location in character.

What is power-emoting (powergaming)?: Powergaming is most commonly when you force an action upon another player, or when you do something your character should not be able to. ie. 'Jonathan hits Jim so hard in the head he forgets his name.'

Biography  (Please make it a decent two paragraphs long. Remember to add three references to the server lore.):

Damian was born into a small noble family in the heartlands of the Holy Orenian Empire. The small house was equally as respected as it was small and held no real power in the area. Though his family felt as if they belonged within their caste, the young Damian would watch the travellers and adventures come and go from his family home, admiring and buying their fine craft, dreaming of seeing the world as they did. Damian’s father, Peter Coburn, did not agree with this sentiment and tried to teach Damian the values of family and honor, telling him that he as the oldest son had to remain and run the house as he had. Damian grew frustrated that he would never be allowed to travel and experience the world, so behind his father’s back he started gathering the necessary provisions to survive on the road, House Coburn might have belonged to his father, but Damian would have no part of it and set out to forge his own destiny.

Even with the necessary provisions and a dream, Damian knew that it was only that, a dream, and that he could not defy his father. But one fateful evening Damian’s uncle visited and told Damian of his father’s past adventures, his father had been part of the great wars against the Orcs, who had been a constant threat to the empire. As a reward for his services and extraordinary valor in battle, he was rewarded a house in Felsten and was knighted by the Emperor himself. Damian became increasingly angry that he had been lied to, and that his father was being completely hypocritical as he had experienced the world, something he would rob his son of. He felt like he was robbed of excitement and adventure.

Damian decided to leave his home to find his own adventures and create his own stories, Peter’s best efforts to stop his son from leaving proved ineffective, so he decided to teach Damian how to fight to ensure he would at least have some skills of combat to face the dangers ahead. With a final fare well, Ragnar turned to the road where he had seen so many travelers come and pass. While on a hill overlooking Felsten, he noticed the sky turned orange and was full of smoke; The Great Felsen Fire had begun, a sign that Damian should look towards the Horizon, for he had a home no more.

 

Personality Traits: (what are your character's quirks?; habits?; likes and dislikes?) Gregarious, Opportunistic, Zealous, Unforgiving, Cruel. Has a habit of biting his cheek, and kissing his teeth and is untrusting of other races.

Ambitions: (what does your character aspire to be?) Damian aspires to make a name for himself and maybe earn the favour of the emperor.

Strengths/Talents: (what is your character really, really good at?)

Weaknesses/Inabilities: (what is a skill that your character needs to work on?) Strong and charismatic. Possesses a commanding voice, but is narrow-sighted, zealous and blinded by anger.

Appearance: (what does your character look like?; how tall are they?; hair color?; scars?)

An average looking man, with a coarse full beard, green eyes and a big nose. He stands at 5’8” feet and was in his youth broad-shouldered and muscled as a maiden’s dream, now however he is slightly overweight, though still strong as an ox.
