Trying to get back into LotC

Hi roleplayers!

I've been traveling for a little over a year now and was only able to log into LotC once to test out my new computer. I've settled down for about a month and want to get back into role playing in LotC. What have I missed? Is there any new updates? I am unfamiliar with any sort of profession system so some info on that would be awesome as well.

Thanks!

Hiya, first of all welcome back to LOTC after your travels hope they were nice. What've you missed is mainly fun ol'Vailor since on August 6th LOTC will be transitioning to a new map map, Axios. Which is a major step up over Vailor in nearly every way.

Main event wise in Vailor you truly haven't missed anything truly extraordinary, there was a burst of WCs and the largest of which was probably a Dwarves vs Oren one(s). Governments fell, rise, and re-formed and all that sorta jazz and they all chug forward. Dark Elves no longer are a nation, and their Capital was buried under ash and molten lava from a erupted volcano.

The profession system is relatively simple, you grind away at doing a skill, mining/fishing/stonemasonry/blacksmithing/etc., so you get better at it and can do more with that profession. Say you level mining, you can progressively dig deeper and dig up more valuable resources. Or blacksmithing where what armor/weapons you can craft widens and the quality of the crafted item improving. You are limited on amount of professions you can truly be good at so you're forced to usually focus on 1 or 2 of the professions.

I hope I bullet pointed some things you were wondering about well enough, if you have anymore questions/want more in-depth answers hit me up with a Forum PM.
