Character’s name: Bredock Ironcloak

Character’s sex: Male

Character’s race: Human, Highlander of Hanseti descent

Character’s age: 26

Biography: Born of Hanseti parents in the year 1549, Bredock's father was a hunter and his mother stayed home and tended to the housework. When Bredock was still a baby they decided to relocate from the Highlands to Felsen because of the harsh living conditions. On the way they were attacked by bandits. His father fought well, but was no match for the bandits superior numbers. His mother may have survived, had she not refused to hand over Bredock, although the future she may have had at the bandit clan is dark. Bredock was spared because of his noticeably large build, even as a baby and was trained by the bandits. He was no martial artist, but he could throw a punch and swing a sword with the best of them. Still he was dissatisfied with his current skillset, as any brawler on the street could possibly best him.

  Bredock had no idea what he wanted to do or be in life, until one day a mage was brought before the bandit leader and used mental illusion magic to convince him to let him go. From this day on, Bredock knew he wanted to be a mage. Content the bandit clan can teach him no more, at the age of 18 he heads out into the wild. He will try to travel to the major cities, looking for a mage to teach him, and he will possibly even head for the mage's guild.

Personality Traits: Loves magic and will attempt to befriend any mages he comes across. Dislikes feeling like he's less than someone else.

Ambitions: A mage and a better fighter.

Strengths/Talents: Inherited some hunting instincts from his father (archery, tracking, etc.)

Weaknesses/Inabilities: Isn't the worlds best fighter but can hold his own.

Appearance: Dark brown hair and hazel eyes. 6'1". Wears a leather overcoat with a green shirt and faded blue trousers. Wears a metal gauntlet on hsi right arm

• Certain elements of the backstory you've chosen for your character are a little bit cliche, and here on Lord of the Craft we encourage creativity and originality. As such, I'd like for you to either revamp your characters backstory entirely or expand onto it with substance that'll give it a more believable and less-cliche effect. For example, what if your characters father knew the bandits before your character was born and had started paying them monthly/yearly for protection of some sort? And then the father started to fail in delivering his payments, which lead to the bandits wanting to kill and dispose of him out of personal anger? It's things like this that makes backstories so much more compelling and intriguing, and will make your role-play a whole lot more interesting once your accepted onto the server!
• In a similar lieu to the above statement, the part in your character's biography where the illusion mage convinces the bandit leader to release your character didn't really make a whole lot of sense from a story-arch perspective - why would the mage use his magic to free someone he would probably just mistake as being another common thug as he wouldn't know Bredock's proper backstory? I think that you should add some more context and backstory there - perhaps the mage was a family friend who knew your character when he was very young? Or perhaps the mage got a chance to speak to your character during his imprisonment and learnt about the truth behind his backstory? There's quite a few interesting ways you can take this directive in, and I'd very much love to see where you can guide it to!
