"We, as a people, stand divided. The Kingdom of Lorraine is struck between multiple factions vying for control. The Horens, The D’Amaury, and the Hornigold Loyalists stand vying for control. We all once stood united in our name and prospects, as a kingdom which forged its independence from the Holy Orenian Empire, yet, only a small while later, we find ourselves in a state of conflict. Conflict brings war, war brings bloodshed, bloodshed brings weakness. The Death of King Lothar D’Amaury was widely received throughout our kingdom, from the grape field of Cleves to the warm lands of Chambery. His death should bring unity, not disarray. We must come together to bring our kingdom to its height, as the current conflict brings us downward into the pits of destruction and carrion. I write this letter as the former Maer of Metz, and as a voice of the little person, the public. The division of this empire will bring us our deaths. As many have said before… Divided We Fall."
