In a manor, deep in a freezing mountain range...

She was finally fixing up the windows, fitting the blue colored panes into place and setting them with a sealant. They didn’t look as good as when they were first installed, the putty bulging and obvious against the metal which originally held the glass together. She still had no idea who had busted out four windows in her home, and she likely never would. It had been sometime within the last ten years; she had been inside the Glade, recovering, hiding. In those years, the entire place had been left a mess. Before she ran, she had gone on a rampage. Tables, bedsheets, books, expensive maps, and an entire telescope had all been shredded and strewn around. The windows had been broken by some sneaking soul, letting in moisture to ruin an entire library's worth of tomes. Nothing was stolen, though. There wasn’t really anything to steal. She had always been a woman of few possessions, with little holding her down to this mortal plane. And now, she had even less. She had finished repairing the telescope, spent a month straight painting an intricate map of Axios on a new table, and making general repairs to her home. Everything was finally in order again. When she looked into the blue panes though, her reflection disturbed her.

She wasn’t herself anymore. She had a new face, a new name, and a new outlook on life. An outlook that was much deadlier to those around her. The last few months alone had seen the deaths of several men at her hands. She told herself it was self defense, but it still weighed on her mind. She didn’t feel guilt, not like she should. The soul inside her was supposed to make her feel those sorts of things now. Instead, she just felt satisfied. Drowning, stabbing, hacking, gutting.. the images of her deeds flashed in her mind, and they did nothing to sway her from this path. In fact, she found herself hurtling into this lifestyle at full speed. The life of a mercenary, a killer, a criminal. A bandit, a raider, a soldier. This life sat so well with her now that it scared her a bit. Of course she had always worked for herself before, but it was always with intent. She had a directive, a goal. Something to keep her going. Now, though.. she had nothing. She was no one.

She had entered into this life with one goal, but now she’d forgotten that goal. Now she could do whatever she wanted.
