Penned by the Lord Scrivener Gawain ap Viktor. 13th of the Sun's Smile, 1622. Ravens are sent from the palace at Metz It is to the displeasure of his Grace that his cousin the late Leufroy Augustus has now passed to the Seven Skies. The Archduke offers his sincere condolences to his surviving wife and son and allows them to continue their lodging within the palace at Metz. Henceforth in accord with the ROYAL ASCENSION ACT of 1615, is the Archduke Lothaire Augustus confirmed as ruler of Lorraine. It is also the will of his Grace that all whom served under the previous administration make haste for Metz so they might serve in a loyal capacity once more. They are to swear oaths of fealty in his name. At the behest of the Emperor, His Excellency, the Margrave Callan Gromach of Daeland is favored to guide the young Lothaire in matters of state aside the Lord Chancellor.
