OzYmandi 647 Share Posted August 13, 2017 Those who knew Ser Vitaly knew he was a cheerful man. The Pasnian was a man beloved by those around him, yet there was always something hidden about him. Helping others filled a hole in his heart of a failed childhood and a poor youth. From nothing to a knight of the church, Vitaly feeled as if his role in the world was to carry God’s will and help the ones that needed. However, you can’t have happy things in life. Ser Vitaly was sick, a disease unknown to the medicine of men. Vitaly had no health whatsoever, yet he was always energetic, cheerful, helpful, until it got the best of him. Laying on his bed in his quarters, surrounded by flowers given by his children, Vitaly thought of his adventures, after and before knighthood. He thought of his part-time squire and his actual squire and how they had tasks to perform and how he had to be there for him But you can’t have happy things in life. Vitaly laid there, thinking through his life, passing by his eyes. By his side, sat his son, Jan Basiliesh, who held his father’s hand, crying. “Papa will be fine, Jan… Do not worry. He’s just tired.” “Papa… Papa, please don’t go..” “I won’t, Jan.” The boy’s words struck Vitaly’s heart like an arrow. The sour, rough coughs of the middle-aged man filled the room. Soon after, Marianne Basiliesh, his daughter, would arrive, panting from all the running. She sat on the chair opposite to Jan and held her father’s right hand. “Papa…” “Papa is fine..” You can’t have happy things in life… With a final cough, and a roll of his eyes, Vitaly seemed calm. Jan looked at Mari and Mari back at him. The man went silent, his eyes close. He rested, at last. His children broke out crying, of joy and sadness, their father finally rested… … at a price… Holy Ser Vitaly Basiliesh ✙Unknown ★Circa 1623
