Ankan 2875 Share Posted December 7, 2017 On the notice board, a wall in the Tavern and by the reception in the library, short letters, written on fine lightly darkened paper are pinned to the wood. Fine nails out of pure silver are used, making noticeable marks in the wood. The letters is written with extraordinary proper handwriting, no letter or character bleeding out of bounds. An Elf with sharpened eyes and good memory could recognise the handwriting. The letter’s layout was in classic Odessa Visaj-style and if that wasn’t revealing enough, the Visaj family emblem, which had grown to be standard on anything she wrote, was present at the top of the letter. -- Blessed Mali’aheral of Haelun’or. The return of the Sohaer, now held by former Maheral Cenwall Maeyr’oynn, and the appointment of Athedil Acal’elor as Maheral has brought new hope to our nation, which have long been in decline. A new era of political stability and absolute purity awaits. We ought to cease this moment, in the spirit of Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya, and work hard for the advancement of our culture. For that purpose, I have decided to honour my many great ancestors, and release a selection of the collection which compiles art and poetry, which members of the proud Visaj bloodline has painted and written over the course of our long existence. The art and poetry are from several eras, before and after Larihei and the founding of Haelun’or. The dating of the pieces are often mere estimation. Go forth and create art. Paint the world, colour our minds and make the abstract accessible. The Visaj Art and Poetry Collection, The First Edition, will be available in the library from now on. kaean’leh chul’bilokae! Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya! Odessa Visaj ((The following is the actual collection, which can only be read by the who visit the library. The poems have all been written by me, in an effort to learn the fundamentals and basic structure of classic poetry. They are also a way of me trying to improve my English, my vocabulary in particular, which has struggled a lot since it became my third most spoken language. Most of the poems are classic Shakespearean Sonnets, but there are one Petrarchan (Italian) Sonnet and one Free Verse thrown into the mix. I have a few Haikus as well, shorter poems, that I wish to keep for later, perhaps for the second collection? The painting is a classic from Gao Xingjian. Beautiful piece of art. I appreciate OOC feedback in messages, if you have taken the time to read them!)) The Art and Poetry of the Visaj family, The First Edition: Visaj Art and Poetry in Aegis Featuring the works of Fiandrieth, Narcisse and Eledar Visaj We cherish our streams' splash, And our brooks' leap, The dim forest's subtle sweep, Our starry sky, summer flash, All, all, nature's cache, Our hearts keep deep, Here is us sweet, here is us well, where we cultivate our earth, How destiny casts it's spell, Our realm, our land, our citadel, What in Aegis is more worth, To cherish dear, and in dwell? Visaj, Fiandrieth. Aegis, (~660). I dream of a statue, with arms spread wide, with Mali'aheral pride, giving refuge to the few, standing up against the imprudence they spew, providing the Mali'thill a guide, in it's great shadow they stride, a bulwark protecting the ideals we pursue, Haelun of Mali'aheral, urging for our kin unified, confidants of the avantgarde are several, for whom our prosperity are central, soul and heart purified, Our statue shelters us from elullral. Visaj, Narcisse. Aegis, (~1320). The word came a cold winter night, elullral are here, Our realm, facing inevitable blight As predicted by the sapient seer, Death awaits Children of Malin, Prince and peasant alike, For their equal great sin, All facing their vicious strike, Prosperity taken for granted, Petty Valah resolving to war, The seeds for destruction were long planted, For the children of the four, Our peaceful time have come to end, For against elullran no one can defend. Visaj, Eledar. Aegis, (~1350). Visaj Art and Poetry in Asulon Featuring the works of Eledar and Cato Visaj I turn around and see my home disappear, My youth feel unduly brief, As elullran made our home their frontier, Our kin silenced in grief, Mali'aheral breathing end where bleeding begin, But who will them mourn? The ice we wander is thin, And weeping will not make them return, Children of Malin, mourning death, Honour through rememberence and peace, Not daggers sharpened, blades unsheathe, For him the struggle will never cease, Seeking vengeance, Will not end our grievance. Visaj, Eledar. Asulon, (1360). Mali'thill (Ink wash painting) Visaj, Eledar. Asulon, (1362). Lliran'Larihei, hallowed are your names For the blood we inherited, Unaffected by flames, Our claims never unmerited, To libel the laws of purity, The way of the lost, They are damned to obscurity, And death will be their cost, Diraaran'Larihei, march forth, Through rains of arrow, Conquer land south to north, Pierce the Mali'ata in heart and marrow, Purity and kinship unite, Honesty and valor create might. Visaj, Cato. Asulon, (1394).
