Character’s name: Barthus McAlfrey

Biography  (This is one of the most important sections of the application. Please take your time and make it a decent paragraph long. Read up on your character's race and be sure to add at least one accurate reference from the server lore): (where does your character come from?; where have they traveled to?; what year were they born in? et cetera.) Barthus McAlfrey was born in 1614 as an only child to a loving family in a small town in the Kingdom of Haense. Barthus and his father would get up every day and practice combat training. Barthus loved his father, but he hated having to go to church every day. His mother forced him to, she told him that it would be good for him. Barthus didn't care, until one day he woke up and his family was gone. Nobody was in bed and all of the beds were properly made, it's as if they didn't even get a chance to sleep. The door was wide open and Barthus could hear noises coming from behind his house. Barthus shot up out of bed, grabbing the knife from his nightstand and a coat before running out back to investigate. Before he even turned the corner he was clubbed over the back of the head by a mysterious figure. When Barthus awoke he was in a bag of some sort being dragged across the ground. He grabbed his knife from his shoe and quickly cut apart his bag, allowing him to see that there were 2 other bags being dragged by 2 other mysterious creatures. Realizing that his parents must be inside the bags, he began to think of how to get them out of here alive. He realized there was no other option but to hurriedly slip out of his bag and duck behind a tree, hoping that the snowstorm would cover his tracks and blind his enemies. When he was out of sight and sure that they lost him, he began to circle around to flank his family's captors. As Barthus approached he could hear one of the hooded figures say: "We aren't getting paid nearly enough to endure weather like this..". Barthus shot out of the trees and threw the knife at one of the figures, hitting it straight in the side of the head. When the body hit the ground, the other 2 captors dropped the bags and ran. Barthus retrieved the knife and used it to cut the other 2 bags open, revealing both parents. He was so relieved until he saw that his father's throat had been slit and his mother's face was blue with frostbite. He quickly scooped his mother up and trudged back through the tundra towards his home, all the while thinking of the 2 that escaped and the revenge he'd enact.

Personality Traits: Barthus has a dislike for religion, after being forced to attend the Church of the Canon by his parents. Barthus hates religion mostly because he didn't have a choice in whether he could go or not. The choice was made for him, and Barthus doesn't like that. It reminds him of how he felt so helpless and meaningless when he discovered his parents were missing. Barthus doesn't like little children very much because of their constant questions and annoyances, and tries to avoid them so they won't spark his rage.

Ambitions: Barthus cared for his mother until she died a year later to her constant sickness after the night she was captured. Once she died, Barthus was free to travel the world and look for anybody that might know of who or what took his parents from him.

Strengths/Talents: Barthus' father taught him how to fight with a sword. Barthus is an excellent swordsman and uses his anger and desire for revenge to his advantage.

Weaknesses/Inabilities: Barthus has a quick temper and is very impatient with people who ask dumb questions. When his temper flares he often goes on sprees of rage, hurting anybody he might see. This includes loved ones and especially the thing that caused his anger. Barthus is also deathly afraid of spiders and total darkness

Appearance: 6'2 180 pounds with black hair and a little bit of hair shaved off the sides of his head. Clean faced, very muscular, hairy arms

- Try explaining why your persona dislikes religion, did he have a bad experience with it when he was younger or does he see a flaw in it? 

- Try avoiding the mysterious or odd disappearance of your family, try thinking outside the box perhaps.
