Explosions don't mean too much to me

((This happened back in Axios, mind you. Also, no meta, no one would know who it was except for those there.))

In the middle of the night, long after what remained of Norland had fallen asleep, Elle Noctuid struck. The sound of the burned down city's rubble beneath her feet was the only noise, the remaining Norlanders had fallen asleep. She was quickly becoming an expert in destruction, taking inspiration from Ed av Avard "The Terrible", one of her beloved paragons under the All-Father's Red Faith. She had struck Norland once before, for betraying the faith she so desperately loved. Tonight was no different. This time however, it was not the whole of Norland that would suffer but rather one house. A house her mother had been raised a bannerman for, but a house whose leader Elle Noctuid despised. Avalon Silversteed.

At first, Elle had been neutral to the man who called himself "Lord Silversteed". However, Avalon had never seemed as devoted as others  to the faith nor had he defended it when the Ash prince, Jevan, attempted to cast it aside. Every interaction with him had made her more bitter, more annoyed. He spoke out of place at moots, he claimed to be a better soldier than he truly was. He called himself a lord and yet she knew of only one man he could rally, not a valid claim to the title of lord in Elle's eyes.

As time went on her disdain for the false lord only grew. Always a grand planner, Elle began studying his hold, looking for any weaknesses. Her inside source had vanished however, there was no trace of death or other mishap. An unfortunate situation, but Elle carried on regardless. There was a glaring hitch right off the back. Her normal arson tricks wouldn't work this time, his hold was made almost entirely of stone bricks, not exactly a flammable surface. Thus, her plan were put on hold and she began wondering whether or not to drop them all together, having hopes that Avalon would have a change of heart. He never did.

The siege of the Krag had been successful. Elle's love for the Red Faith guiding her to fight against the Norlanders that had attempted to throw away hundreds of years of belief. The Renatus soldiers had no love for her faith, nor had she any love for their ways. No love, except, perhaps, for one thing she had observed at the end of the siege. Their attempt to destroy the ash tree. Looking dead but brimming with life inside, the tree had withstood the attempts to blast it away with explosives. The tree, Elle knew, wouldn't collapse, but a hold made of stone brick? She had no doubt in her mind, thus her plans came alive once more. Vengeance is a dangerous game, but Elle found herself unable to abstain.

A prayer to her paragon, an arrow left in offering to Astrid, Elle was resolute. She procured explosives easily enough, her detached attitude seemingly only made it easier to play it off. She broke into the keep with some difficulty, a discussion held there earlier had led to the hold being fortified and locked down. Still, she made her way in with the explosives and her plan. The hold was relatively new, even by the standards of Norland's most recent capitol. The inner pillars, in her mind, would only make the structure easier to collapse, should they go first. Thus, she set the charges down against each, connecting them with rope.

"A throne. Forgot about that." She scoffed as she laid her eyes on Avalon's pseudo-throne. Coughing and bemoaning over her inability to smoke again quite yet, she set a charge down on the throne's seat as well.

The rope that connected all of the charges was only just barely long enough with the newest explosive charge. Yet Elle made it work, taking a torch from a nearby wall, curling her left hand's fingers around it. She inhaled deeply, having a brief moment of regret which she quickly overcame. The torch lit the rope easily enough and was promptly tossed away. The Fabulous Killjoy then ran off, a knowing grin on her face.
