Vulkin Frostbeard 58 Share Posted January 4, 2018 Varian sits in his fort in silence, thinking of what is to come of the kingdom he just joined but has now isolated himself from. He stairs at the high ceiling that fades into blackness thinking about the stories of old and the accomplishments of Urguan and the accomplishments and faults of the new kingdom Kaz Ulrah. Stroking his beard with a face full of discussed he knew nothing would change as long as the dwarves lose to their greed, clinging to power, false words, and the idea of running dwarves in the "Right Way". As the rage builds inside, the anger begins to show as he grips onto his chair with iron grips causing the wooden armrest to crack causing him to loosen his grip before looking around the room at his kin who feast in the halls where they all gather. As he looks around he sees a few of his trusted kin and few trusted allies gathered around at a table discussing matters of the future of the dwarves. Varian much intrigued listens in to what they were saying and to his astonishment were words of wisdom and truth that many say but few act on. Surprised by the words of these dwed he leaves the hall and ascends to the top of his fort and sits behind a desk writing up a letter to all clan lords of Atlas.Clan Lords of Atlas I am Varian Beastforge, Clan father of the Beastforge and a mere forest dwarf who spends his time in his fort, fighting, drinking and farming as the days go by and the moon lights the night sky. I see little change over the time I have spent with the dwed of these lands and little shows me the strength and Honor of the dwarves and what it should be. Many of our kind get killed and tortured by bandits, orcs, humans and creatures of the night. Little has changed from the stories iv been told about Urguan and the Frostbeards rebellion before turning into Kaz. One thing is for sure though and that the problem is not always outside the city walls but with in. Seems like Trust, and friendship gets one places further than hard work, innovation, bravery, loyalty, and dedication. With the death of the King under the Mountain and the splitting of our kin, I can say with great disappointment that Dwarves are not a race or kingdom to be praised or respected in it's current state nor will it be for many Generations to come. I have seen much activity as many strive to climb the ladder of power, mustering together all allies to back their claims for a throne but little do I see any dwed attempting to reunite dwarves from all over and not those they deem as an ally. To many dwed see one another as an enemy for the side they chose to fight on. I condemn all kin-slayers to suffer and all traitors and worshipers of dark arts to suffer leaving the only option for atonement is to rally and unite all dwed across Atlas. The only progress that can be made is if we all unite as one and once more reform the kingdom into a place for all dwed to work together once more and pursue a brighter future. I ask all Clan lords from Old Urguan and Kaz to reach out and designate a meeting to reach an agreement that will allow all to work together. Once more I ask for all Clan lords to gather for a meeting agreed by the lords to discuss a unification and creation of a new Kingdom, one that will rid the hate for one another and unite against the enemies that surround us from all sides. Until this is achieved and the cycle of ignorance ends the Beastforge will remain in Isolation to avoid any and all future Dwarven conflict. Signed by Varian Beastforge ((no ooc crap or trolling plz. I did this purely to show varians current stance and to get a idea of the type of players dwarves now have))
Dreek 1633 Share Posted January 4, 2018 Benjamin W. Goldhand reads the missive as it is circulated around the cobbled streets of Kaz'Ulrah, a frown growing deeper and deeper as he nears the end of the script. Throughly disapointed with the viewpoint presented, the young Dwarf would leave the succulent waters of his hottub and meander his way to his study, eager to pen a response. "It is to you I write, Varian Beastforge. I commend your denouncement of the follies that exist, namely of the corruption present in the upper echelons of power. However, you seem to contradict yourself in calling for unifocation- after you yourself have ventured out from Kaz'Ulrah. I of course do not hold this against you, as it is a firm belief of mine that YEMEKARR wished for his people to grow and expand. You suggest unification, and I have the impression you neither lived during nor studied that histories of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan before it's time of turmoil with Arcadian and Frostbeard seperatists. The unified Dwarven state was a detriment to all Dwarves. For the vast majority of this state's history, stagnation and leadership voids existed. One of these two terms would ultimately cause the other, and eventually lead to the weakness that the Grand Kingdom so often experienced in wars- most notably when it was forced to empty it's coffers entirely to purchase Dunamis mercenaries to combat the Empire of Oren during the land of Athera. However, the two key terms that would describe the Grand Kingdom for much of its existence was not that of a shadow council, nor that of Khorvad. No, it was stagnation and a void of leadership. A unified Dwarven state removes Armakak's desire for competition. A unified Dwarven state, similar to the Grand Kingdom of Urguan, draws on complacency among leaders and cultures fail to advance, having only external pressures to contend with. Stagnation also has a much larger danger that is inherent to the state of existence it places states under. Leaders often go missing, either through the stress of leading such a bloated state or grow into a long held tradition of complacency- dining on fine ales and grapes as they reside by their hot tubs, marrying high elven whores. This will in due course rob the state itself of capable all-round competent leaders, much in the way the Grand Kingdom suffered. It is then that leaders from other walks of life will step in, be that military generals, preachers of YEMEKARR, or the book smart diplomats. In turn these vacancies promote unready understudies. The longer this process occurs, the faster it accelerates, and soon we gaze upon our population to find few Dwed who have not been Grand King or in some major leadership position in the state. You, and those that follow you may doubt my words. I implore you however, shed any rose tinted monocle you may wear. Gaze upon the truths that the Grand Kingdom forces it's people to endure, and I beg of you. Do not repeat the mistakes of our ancestors. It is imperative that YEMEKARR's dwed do not return to this sorry state of existence. Signed, Benjamin W. Goldhand Historian of YEMEKARR's people. Vulkin Frostbeard 58 Author Share Posted January 4, 2018 Varian opens a letter handed to him by one of the guards and begins reading upon opening it. After finishing, Varian begins to write a reply. " To the knowlegable Gold and I appreciate the wisdom and advice of someone with a large knowledge on the past of the dwedmar. I know a good deal of urguan and the frostbeards dating back too anthos through multiple friends although my knowledge is not as deep as yours. Regarding the statement in which seems contradicting, what I meant by the statement was that all the clan lords should form and partake including our clan but will not be done unless initiative by other clans become apparent. If none do then our stance will remain neutral. I look forward to our next discussian." Signed by Varian Beastforge. ((Ignore poor editing, at work....))
