Concerning Divorce

Of late the Holy Hearth has been preoccupied with the joyous ceremony of unifying two souls before the glory of the All Father. However, with this joy comes the sorrows and conflicts that plague every marriage. And in some cases the desire for separation. We of the Holy Hearth Council have discussed this issue at length. The option of divorce should not be one considered with brevity or with passing fancy. When one enters into a union under the eyes of the All Father the union is to be considered a permanent affair, a permanent union between two of the All Father’s faithful. However the Holy Hearth is not entirely opposed to divorce, however the circumstances in which one may request a divorce are of a more extreme nature. Hence the act of divorce is an exceedingly rare occurrence.

To receive a dispensation for divorce from the Holy Hearth, one must seek out the High Keeper. Should the High Keeper find the reasons and terms of divorce acceptable, then the marriage will be annulled legally and in a sacred manner. The Holy Hearth holds the following circumstances to be valid grounds for annulment. Blasphemy, Heresy, Apostasy, continued violation of the All Father’s code and Abandonment. If the appellant seeking to receive an annulment fails to provide evidence of one of the following circumstances then the annulment will not be provided.
