A Few More Years

The elven lady sits among the shrine again. This time with the cold icy wind, tears are streaming down her face. 

 

"C-creator, yesterday morning my ex-boss took his own life. I thought he was stronger...I..I...should have been there to help him.." 

 

A soft whine emitted from the chest, broken only by the hollowing of the wind.

 

"C-Creator, I almost died yesterday. A dog monster almost took my life. However, thanks to a halfling, I was saved."

 

She took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts.

 

"Creator, bless Lin's soul to the Void. Let him shine among the stars of the night sky and sleep when the morning comes. I knew Lin as an innovator, a self-starter. Beneath the rough and chipped exterior, a gentle and dove-like soul remained behind. One that got married, one that was going to have kids...I'd like to think he and I would have sat on a bench, holding his children, talking and laughing. A few more years, and he and I would be watching his children run around on their stumpy legs. And Lin would watch them, his gaze happy but protective. A few years later, watching his children turn into teens while he starts growing grey hairs. Another few years later, I would have helped him as his children left the house to greener places. A few years later, I would have held his hand admit his children and his wife, his features now old as time, as his dry and cracked lips would of parted. His sunken hollow eyes would have smiled, and he would have passed peacefully. I bless Lin's soul to the Void, for that, his life, as been taken away. He will never be replaced, and neither shall his life, his dreams, or ambitions."

 

It seems she couldn't handle speaking any longer, for when she finishes her speech, she collapses into sobs. Only masked by the wind and the snow.
