Its esteemed members are public servants, striving to benefit society in all that they do. Their duties include the upkeep, sale, and oversight of property, both public and private; negotiation and discussion which a sovereign state must partake in with its peers; and all other matters of a domestic nature. « Wʜʏ Sᴇʀᴠᴇ? » “These are days of special perplexity and depression... the path of public duty is unusually rugged.” — Ser Bryant Allard The August Administration channels one’s managerial skills into effective action. Rigid protocol and rules ensure that all are treated equally, and justice is served. Those who serve in the Administration are given much trust and power within the Principality, and are expected to be exemplars of virtue. It is imperative that administrators set the example for our nation’s people. Below is a list of benefits afforded to those who serve. Comfortable and permanent housing. Those who serve in the Administration are given priority access to new real estate, allowing them to secure a home for their family before others. Unlimited flow of food and drink. The Principality brews its own drinks, from fine wine to hearty ale. Additionally, there are skilled chefs who lend their services to us. Opportunity to ascend the social ladder in some form. One may begin as a mere pawn in the Administration’s bureaucratic or administrative ranks, but in time rise through the ranks and prove their worth, eventually perhaps earning tenure elsewhere by way of their service. Service to the Principality. Administrators are good men of the regnum Curoniae. It is the duty of every righteous and honorable man to give service to his nation. The Administration is a great way of doing so. « Sᴛʀᴜᴄᴛᴜʀᴇ » “A strong nation requires orators of a certain breed – a certain caliber... Thus it may secure its place on the world stage.” — Ser Ajax Ironwood ‣ Cʜᴀɪɴ ᴏf Cᴏᴍᴍᴀɴᴅ« Cʜᴀɴᴄᴇʟʟᴏʀ » The Chancellor is the chief administrative and bureaucratic officer within the Principality. He oversees the other top tier leaders of Curon, and acts in lieu of the Sovereign Prince when His Serene Highness is preoccupied. So long as his actions have the Sovereign Prince’s sanction, the Chancellor’s word is law. « Exᴇᴄᴜᴛɪᴠᴇs » Serving as leadership of each of the three Agencies, the Executives have various titles. However, they are united by the fact that they answer directly to the Chancellor, and that each oversees other administrative or bureaucratic officers in the Agencies. « Aɢᴇɴᴄɪᴇs » There are three Agencies, whose agents perform the day to day duties which keep Curon prosperous. Within the lower ranks of these Agencies is where new employees begin, before ascending to the higher ranks, and possibly the top tier of leadership. People are of a particular grade and are also assigned a particular job. There are shorthand references for any combination of both. For example, a MS1 would be a Master (M) in the Interior Agency (I) serving as a Steward (job #1). New grades and jobs may be added or amended as the Administration sees fit. GRADES R Recruit — Recruits joined an Agency and have been inducted by the Executive or one of his assigned leaders. T Trainee — Trainees have been assigned a mentor who is skilled in their Agency to teach them the ins and outs.G Graduate — Graduates have completed their training and is proficient in their job. They will begin to work properly for the Principality fully.I Instructor — The instructor has worked their billet long enough to know everything there is to know. They will help to teach the trainees.M Master — A master is the best that the Administration has to offer for that specific job, overseeing Agency activities relating to it and reporting to the Executive. One to three masters may serve within each Agency.E Executive — The Executive is the chief officer of their respective Agency. MUNICIPAL AGENCY | HOUSING, COMMERCE, & TOURISM I0 Mayor — As the elected Executive of the Municipal Agency, the Mayor coordinates with the Chancellor to oversee the leadership of the capital city, Cyrilsburg. Elections are held every two to three weeks, overseen by the Prince and Chancellor. I1 Steward — As the backbone of the Administration, Stewards are tasked with housing sales, maintenance, and taxation oversight. They also repair roads, sell stalls, and work to promote tourism.I2 Bank Clerk — One or two Bank Clerks will serve at a time, managing the Southern Bank (coming soon™) by meeting with clients to consider loans, sell notes, bonds, et cetera. A stock market may be created in time as well.I3 Manager — The tavern, arena, and other important community/tourist centers are state owned in Curon. Managers of each are appointed and given free reign over their establishment, able to hire their own employees and do what they desire, but they must check in with the Administration to prove they are active and profitable. Profits are split between the Manager and Principality, pursuant to a contract drafted between each Manager and the state. FOREIGN AGENCY | DIPLOMACY, ANNOUNCEMENTS, & INTELLIGENCE F0 Commissioner — Serving as Executive of the Foreign Agency, the Commissioner manages maintenance of relations with allies and other nations, and oversees other administrators who fall under the Foreign Agency.F1 Ambassador — Nations of importance are assigned ambassadors. Additionally, the Commissioner himself may serve as ambassador to one or two nations who are such close allies that they command immediacy. F2 Confidant — Allies of Curon may appoint one of their leaders as a Confidant, who serves informally in the Foreign Agency by keeping the Commissioner up to date on their homeland’s affairs, and thus allowing the Commissioner to keep the Administration informed. Enemies of Curon may face subterfuge, as the Commissioner has a duty to gather intelligence even if not permitted, and may appoint Confidants whose job is not to help their homeland, but hinder it. This would never happen to our esteemed allies, such as Haense. ROYAL AGENCY | ASSISTANCE, TREASURY, & SERVICE R0 Secretary — Serving as Secretary to both the Sovereign Prince and Chancellor, the Secretary is meant to help coordinate the success of both other Agencies, as well as to oversee the royal household, palace, and other royal properties or duties. R1 Servant — Helping to farm, cook, clean, and perform other duties within the palace or other places, servants are employees of the royal household.R2 Chronicler — One or two people may be appointed as Chroniclers, whose duty is to help maintain administrative documentation and produce well made announcements, legislative documents, and other paperwork, which may be used internally or distributed to the public.
