Brief description:

The Hamlet of Nordengrad, is the heart of the Nordengradic Earldom. A demesne formed from refugees and survivors of the Fourth Kingdom of Norland. Founded by the young Thoromir Ruric, Nordengrad finds itself impoverished, its citizens stripped of all the wealth and opulence their ancestors had managed to acquire over decades of warfare, banditry and raiding. Realizing this and a lack of pious devotion heavily contributed to the degradation of their people and their homeland the Nordengradic folk have resolved to move in a different direction that that taken during the age of kings.

 

Nordengrad focuses primarily on subsistence farming. With the vast majority of its population engaged in farming, husbandry or some variety of necessary craft to ensure the continued survival of the growing settlement of survivors. As such it does not have a great number of tertiary professions, beyond the innkeeper. As such its productions are primarily, agricultural, with the town exporting quantities of wheats, roots and varieties of tubers. In addition to this the fertile fields of the Northern reach provide excellent grazing to a variety of herd animals. Often times large herds of long haired cattle and hardy sheep can be spotted grazing on the steppe, accompanied by the odd herder ensuring their charges are not harangued by wolves and bandits that plague the region.
