Treshure 5817 Share Posted August 13, 2018 "We do not forget." The Clan Corrin traces their origin to the early Princedom of Malinor, once living amongst the spawn of Malin as a united whole. Enigmatic and isolationist, the mali’ker clan had chosen to stow away for generations in the deep hills rather than confront the nature of their city dwelling brethren. Deeply religious, the Corrin value the nature of faith and culture above all else. As leaders of the ancient commune of Gladewynn, they helped cultivate the veneration of the Ancestors to non believers. Amongst fabled legends and floating rumors, some even speak of the Corrins as ancient sorcerers; in time long past drawing the power of the Ancestors and Spirits to evoke magic and cast spells. Much knowledge has been lost to the tragedies that befell Clan Corrin in the time of yore. The compounding misfortune has led them seeking shelter within the Dominion, now facing their kin since the age of Aegis. History -=-=-=-=-=- In the time that Malin drew breath, the mali’ker Corrin had congregated with the rest of elvendom in the ancient communes seated upon Aegis. He was born to the ashen of Veluluai, bound to the city of Magara’lin. Though as Veluluai was slain, Corrin grew discontent. Without the Matriarch of the mali’ker, he witnessed his brothers turn wicked. Their great tradition withered into primal sins. As the city descended into war, all was lost in his eyes. In the time of ancients, Corrin had grown close with several seeds and families; one such named “Ithel’an”’. Noticing his swift departure following the Ibleesian defeat, Corrin finally conceived the thought of departure. And so he did. - Clan Patriarch, Corrin - Amongst the wilds and hills Corrin did forge his Clan. From Onyx and the veneration of the Ancestors, he cemented a family forever bound to chains of the past. Corrin harbored an intense paranoia; for if he should allow his kin to fall into sin, all would be lost. The family creed and its history were thus written on tablets. All those that went before were immortalized in stone. Soon Corrin’s aged name would be written on the Onyx Tablets, the Clan given unto his namesake. In time, Clan Corrin found itself amongst elves who drew similar disgust of modern elvendom. From the wilds, they witnessed the Sack of Malinor. From lands untouched, they saw their kindred split and sundered amongst the hills as humanity took the bountiful plunder of Elvennese. From the tears they wept, Gladewynn rose. The ancient commune would serve as the ancestral home of Clan Corrin for centuries to come. Yet it was their own adage that came to truth. As all things age, so did Gladewynn; after two destructions, the Clan Corrin were cast from their homes and unto the wilds once more. It was the rumors of their kindred fleeing to Dominion that led them to civilization once more. After countless centuries, Clan Corrin had returned to Elvenesse. Culture -=-=-=-=-=- It is said that Clan Corrin yearns for the past more than they pay heed to present. They are a people deeply steeped in tradition. Their life, their adages, and their histories are all inscribed on stones known as the ‘Onyx Tablets’. Differing from their mali’ame counterparts, they spit on the practice of oral tradition. To properly venerate an Ancestor is to capture their image without flaw. The practice of written account makes for this. Although mythic, Clan Corrin draws ties to ancient sorcerers of yore. In the olden days, Corrin himself was rumored to draw upon the strength of the Ancestors and Spirits. Though this knowledge has been lost to time, Clan Corrin does not object the curious nature that magicka brings. Insignia -=-=-=-=-=- The banner of Clan Corrin are linked chains. The clan acknowledges the tragedies that befell their race following the Sack of Malinor. After witnessing horrific deeds and subsequential oppression for centuries remaining, the Corrins draw deep concern for the sins of their fathers. The chains draw symbolical mourning of the damned. In duality, they serve a reminder that their past is better learned than avoided; the sins of yesteryear are as inescapable as a slave’s chains. To the Clan Corrin, tattoos are as present as the bodies they are embedded on. They are ever living, changing, and painfully present. Such dogma is antithetical to Corrin ideology. Tattoos would only be imbued at the catalyst of major significance. Much as the mali’ker lay precious stones to commemorate the Ancestors, Clan Corrin imbues their dress with fine clothing and exotic jewels. Their wear denotes their status; their gems pay heed the Ancestors that walked before. They bear ashen hair, rarely lighter or fully black. Their eyes are a deep sanguine. Only on rare occasion will a blood member of the Clan bear white hair. The Clan has historically sired tall and lanky individuals, ranging upwards from the 6’ range. Joining the Clan If you are interested in making a blood character, contact Treshure#1981 on Discord.
