The warm autumn breeze blew through the streets of Cyrilsburg  as the people gathered around the stand by the fountain.Count Wilhelm and Lady Evelyn stood on the balcony of the lord of halls, as Chancellor Bjorn Mauntel took to the small stage, the water of the fountain falling behind him. He announced the candidates for Alcalde. “Graham Milner, Ajax II Ironwood and Melchior Guillen” he voice rung out across the crowds gather.

  First and the only candidate to give his speech to the people of Cyrilsburg, Graham Milner. Standing proudly his voice would pass over the waiting people.

 

“The good people of Cyrilsburg, my comrades, my friends, my neighbors, my family, today I come to you, not as a soldier, but as an extension of yourselves. I love this city, and I love its people. From the first day I’ve set foot behind the manor walls to begin my duty as an initiate of the Ursus Order, I’ve loved what we as a people represent. Hope, well-being, security, and prosperity. All of these things together are what make us a great people, and all of these great people together are what us a great city. The love I share for this place, for each of you, is so immense that words alone cannot describe the feeling in my heart. As I’ve once told someone close to me, when you love someone, a piece of your heart goes to stay with them. They’re forever entrusted with caring for it, making sure that this piece of your heart stays unbroken. Well, I no longer have the whole of my heart, for it lies with all of you. I love this place and all of its people dearly, and I would face down the wrath of a thousand demons from Hell if it meant saving it. This love is why I believe that I am the best selection for Mayor. I’m, admittedly, not the smartest, or the wisest, or the strongest. But I will work the hardest, and I will use my passion and drive to see all of you succeed in whichever way. I care for each and every one of you deeply, and if I am not your best choice, then I will rally behind whoever you feel is anyday. Because we are the people of Cyrilsburg, and we are the future. We are strong, and together, we will never fail.”

 

As he took a breathe looking over all present , the crowds cheers and hollering could be heard around the city. Bjorn took the stage once more, raising his hand to silence the crowd. “The voting booths have opened within the hall of lords” He say to the crowd , before departing to oversee the coming voters

As the sun finally fell over the streets of Cyrilsburg, the vote were in. Counted by the Count and Lady Evelyn.With a nod to each other , Lady Evelyn took the notice and pinned on the notice boards for all to see.

 

“The Votes have been counted, the new Alcalde confirmed with a majority vote of  82% of the vote. He shall be officated into his position at the next court of Cyrilsburg. The people of Cyrilsburg have chosen : Graham Milner”

After a long day of patrolling, Graham walked steadily back to the barracks, looking to finish up his daily reports. Upon hearing a commotion outside of the barracks, he went above the gatehouse, looking outwards to the city. The commotion came from a small gathering of people, gathered just outside of the feast hall. A town crier stood in the center of them, reciting the notice. He talked eagerly of the winner, announcing the results and of Graham’s victory. With nothing but a smile as Graham looked onward towards his people at the call of his name, he breathed in a gentle sigh of relief before turning on his heel and returning to his office, settling down before recollecting his emotions, bracing himself for his newfound responsibilities.
