Sporadic 2844 Share Posted September 23, 2011 I think the Cthulhu Krakeshut lore is fine with an excerpt of 'God could not kill the beast'. Ancient history is just that... ancient. In this long a time span the population would have brought skeptics and contradictions in the existence of God. My character doesn't believe in God. If this cult wants to believe the squid is too powerful instead of tolerated by God, let them believe this. There's nobody with the direct IC authority to contradict them. Myths often contradict each other yet co-exist. In fact, it would be metagaming if the entirety of them made perfect sense when combined. And clashing beliefs are such delicious sources of drama and thus RP.

Yes they could believe that his more powerful than god but the lore cant say god tryed to kill him but couldnt they could say the Cultists think that he is stronger than the old god or something like that. I'm not sure if the old lore has to be considered as absolute truth or a 'best guess' kind of thing. Lore in real life is definitely not always fully factual. In case of the latter, the two pieces you bring up can contradict without a problem. The IC disputes can get quite fun.
DeadCthulhu 4 Author Share Posted September 28, 2011 Well I'm still waiting on a review of the villain application so I can get this rolling. I can't very well do any of this without it being approved. I'm not going to roleplay a nice guy and then change when my villain app goes through.
