An act restricting the placement of Campaign Posters.

INTRODUCTION

During the Election of 1756, it has come to our attention that Campaign Posters, posted by certain campaigns, were placed in unsavory locations inappropriate for political campaigns. Therefore, we wish to create legislation disallowing the placement of Campaign Posters in certain places.

SECTION I:

On the Placement of Posters

  1. Campaign posters are not allowed to be placed on any government property in any province or territory of the Empire.
  2. Campaign posters are not allowed on any property of the Church baring dispensation of local clerical authorities.
  3. Campaign posters are ONLY allowed to be placed on private property, ONLY IF the owner of the property consents to it. This consent shall be had in a written form.

SECTION II:

Trial and Punishment

  1. If evidence exists that a candidate or his member of their campaign breached these articles, the candidate shall be called to trial.
  2. If evidence exists that an individual was found placing campaign posters in an attempt to undermine another campaign, they shall be called to trial.
  3. If found guilty, the crime shall count as a Class E infraction of the Third Degree as per the Imperial Lawbook.

Introduced by Senator Lauritz H. Christiansen on 8th of Owyn’s Light, 1757

Issued and proclaimed,

HIS IMPERIAL MAJESTY, Peter III Anthony, Holy Orenian Emperor, King of Curon, Renatus, Salvus, and Seventis, King-Elect of Kaedrin, Prince of Malinor, Protector of the Heartlanders, Highlanders, and Farfolk, etcetera.

Elene would shrug as the Livery Council passed this act two years before the Senate did.
