An act to authorize the codification of the Oren Revised Code (ORC) as the standing legal code of the Holy Orenian Empire.

 

INTRODUCTION

 

This legislation shall reform the standing codex that defines the laws of the Holy Orenian State, be they criminal, civil, and or natural. 

 

SECTION I:

 

On establishing the Oren Revised Code as the law of the land

 

1.  Be it enacted that the Oren Revised Code shall be established as the official legal code of the Holy Orenian State.
2. The Oren Revised Code shall be employed in all Imperial courts of law, as authorized by the Judiciary Act of 1740, in the Holy Orenian Empire. 
3. All statutes passed and granted assent by the Imperial Crown and its institutions shall be codified within the Oren Revised Code. 

 

 

SECTION II:

 

On the maintenance of the law book and the duration of its authority

 

1.  The Oren Revised Code shall hold the full authority as the official standing legal code of the Holy Orenian Empire unless superseded by an Act of the Imperial Diet or by Edict of the Imperial Crown. 
2. The Department of Civil Affairs and the Department of Justice shall maintain co-equal responsibility for the maintenance and record of the Oren Revised Code. 
3. Any intent to revise, modify, and institute changes withstanding to the Oren Revised Code must be notified to the Chair of the Imperial Senate Committee on Justice before further legislative consideration to the Imperial Senate.
4. All solicitors and magistrates of the Holy Orenian Empire must be trained under the Oren Revised Code.
