The Judicial Court Consolidation Act

INTRODUCTION

In order to prevent an excess or dearth of judges in any one circuit, this act seeks to consolidate the eastern and western circuit courts into one singular court. Additionally, it amends the Criminal Justice Reform Act, 1746 to restore cases of treason to lower court jurisdiction.

SECTION I:

On amending Section II of the Judiciary Act of 1740 to consolidate the circuit courts.

  1. Both the eastern and western circuit courts of the judiciary shall be consolidated into one singular circuit court spanning the entirety of the Holy Orenian Empire.
  2. All current court justices of the eastern and western circuits shall be assigned to this new court.
  3. No other courts within the territory of the Holy Orenian Empire or its subsidiary realms shall exist with the power to cast judgments in the first instance.

SECTION II:

On amending the Criminal Justice Reform Act, 1746.

  1. In the cases of treason, the Circuit Court shall reserve the jurisdiction of hearing trial and rendering judgment.

Introduced by Senator Conrad Barclay on the 11th of Harren’s Folly, 1763

Cosponsored by Senator Lauritz H. Christiansen

Issued and proclaimed,

Peter III, by the grace of GOD Holy Orenian Emperor, forever August, King of Renatus, Curon, Salvus, and Seventis, King-Elect of Kaedrin, Prince of Malinor, Grand Duke of Ves, Duke of Lorraine and Roden, Baron of Sedan, Vitzburg and Sedai, Protector of the Heartlanders, Highlanders, and Farfolk, etcetera.
