THE HERALD OF SPRING

On the first eve of Godfrey’s Triumph, one of the inaugural months of Spring, all are invited to the resplendent halls of the palace Novellen, to join the Princess Elizabeth Anne in her name day merriment. As a girl of ten and six, her world is changed forever, and thus the heralding of Spring symbolizes her life as a woman as it blossoms. Floral-themed garb is very much encouraged, whether it be in the use of patterns or color palettes. 

 

TIMETABLE

     I.  A Mother’s Address

As the eldest child and daughter of the Princess Imperial, Anne Augusta will give a brief dissertation to reflect on her daughter’s accomplishments and declare Princess Elizabeth’s ascension to majority.

 

   II.   The Suitor’s Persuasion

For the Princess’ entertainment, suitors of age may present themselves to the princess and do their very best in wooing her, whether it be with tale, song, dance, whatever he sees fit. Let it be known that this is solely for the purpose of entertainment, and that naught is guaranteed to come of such a merriment. 

 

   III. The Waltz of Efflorescence

 The waltz of efflorescence, in which the young women and men of the Empire will dance together in a brilliant display of culture, vibrancy and color. 

 

   IV.  Antiquity’s Memoir

  A competition is to be held in which both women and men of the Empire may compete. The motif is that of important figures of history; those who molded the clay of culture into their vision, and changed the world because of it. Contestants will be limited to three men and three women, which may be subject to change if need be. A winner from each group is to be selected and presented with an honorific title, as well as monetary compensation by the Princess Elizabeth.

 

As an aside, there will be . . . 

• Minstrels, bards and jesters,

• And an array of nourishment and drink.

 

If one seeks to take up arms against the guests

Of Novellen, they will be swiftly dealt with.

All citizens and peoples are invited, save

For those of the enemy states of

The Holy Orenian Empire.

Weapons and foul play will not be tolerated.
