Is this creature tamable and if so, how:

Should you encounter the Eldest Female of the pack, she would test one’s bravery. Pass this test, and she would allow them to take a pup of appropriate age to bond with. There’s options to obtain a pup though less than desirable ways, such as sneaking past the Eldest Female or killing her. However, there’s consequences should one take a pup too young.

  • Designed to be used as player-ran events.
  • Chirr’ker are wary, shy creatures and would build homes far from descendent’s villages, towns, and cities.
  • How a mother might test somebody’s bravery could be that she swipes, growls, and faint attacks against the person. Do add your own spin and style to the event.
  • Obtaining a wolf before it reaches the adolescent stage would result in a stunt their growth, resulting in the Chirr’ker developing Pygmy Syndrome as it was unable to obtain the proper nutrients found within their mother’s milk to regulate proper growth.  (See Description)
  • To pass, the character must maintain eye contact.

Summary of the creature:

Commonly known to be companions and hunting aids to the Mali’ker people for centuries, they’re a massive species of canines that reside within caves and caverns surrounded by lush forests. Unlike their smaller counterparts, their bodies are builded to be bulker, thus enabling them to be used as mounts, in exchange, they’re much slower than normal wolves and comparatively docile. Do beware, however, as they’re not harmless nor passive. Diet features elk, moose, bears, stags,  in times of desperation, foxes, wolves,  squirrels, and beavers.

Characteristics of the creature:

Often avoiding descendant contact by their own behalf, they’re neutral and live by the idea of  ‘You don’t hurt us, we don’t hurt you.’ Though, do not be mistaken, once their pack, more importantly their pups, are threatened they’re quick to grow extremely hostile and the use of deadly force. Wary, they wouldn’t accept food they or a trusted person didn’t kill/prepare, and find themselves mighty uncomfortable when in a large group of people. Packs often composed of two mating pairs, the Eldest Male (Father) and Eldest Female (Mother) where the rest of the pack are unmated children whose ages ranged from puppies to adolescence. To which, it should be noted, Pygmy Syndrome does not naturally occur, for when the Eldest Female dies, the puppies are merely left behind to either starve or devoured by hungry predators.

Their behavior changes somewhat once they’ve forged a connection with somebody, but not by much. A noticeable change is that they refuse to mate or produce cubs while in captivity. Likely believing it’ll distract them from protecting their bound, or perhaps understanding they can’t protect their partner and cubs. Where druids could tell you for a fact they’re not sapient, their intelligence is on part with corvids. Enabling them to be taught signals, manuviers, and even tricks if so desired. Though, again, they’re mighty uncomfortable around large crowds, and would refuse to do anything that’d bring large unwanted attention to them, which unfortunately, they were born giant wolves. Where one is unable to carry out a conversation with Chirr’ker, they can grow to learn basic words within any language as long as it is taught to them.

  • Females will not give birth to litters while bound/in captivity.
  • Where one cannot carry out a conversation with a Chirr’ker without being a druid, they do react to their bound’s emotions. Should they be depressed, they can be found curling up to them. Acting as an emotional support animal.
  • They would assist their bound however they could, should they go blind, help them walk about. Should they lose their hearing, stick by their side and listen for anything alarming. Think assistant dogs.
  • Can be taught tricks, but would never perform them for show.
  • If caught within an area filled with a lot of people, they would make a run for the first exit. If unable to, keep their backs towards a wall.

Life Stage:

Puppy: Birth - Two (2) Weeks

  • 1.8 feet (0.5 meters) to 2.0 feet (0.6 meters) tall at shoulder length
  • 3.0 feet (.9 meters) to 3.5 feet (1.1 meters) long from nose to tail.
  • 80 pounds (36 kilograms) to 100 pounds (45 kilograms)

  • Chirr’ker who suffer from pygmy syndrome would remain the size of a puppy for all of their lives.

Adolescent: Three (3) Weeks - Ten (10) Weeks

  • 2.5 feet (.8 meters) to 3.0 feet (.9 meters)  tall at shoulder length
  • 4.5 feet (1.4 meters) to 6 feet (1.8 meters) long from nose to tail
  • 210 pounds (95 kilograms) to 220 pounds (100 kilograms)

Adult: Eleven (11) Weeks and Up

  • 5.5 feet (1.7 meters)  to 6.5 feet (2.0 meters) at shoulder
  • 9.0 feet (2.7 meters) to 12.0 feet (3.7 meters) long from nose to tail
  • 420 pounds (190 kilograms) to 440 pounds (200 kilograms)

  • As expected, the Chirr’ker cannot be larger or smaller then the established rage of their life stage. Where the weight can vary, that’s often reflective that the wolf is overweight or underweight, therefore, sickly and unable to properly move or function.
  • Chirr’ker cannot be bonded with as adults.

Appearance:

Their fur glimmers silver in moonlight like stars in the night. Making lovely cloaks should one successfully hunt one down.

Eyes of Gems: Amethyst, Amber, Sapphire, Rose Quartz, Turquoise, Opal, Lapis and Jade
Fur of  Twilight: Shades of Gray (Silver), Black, White, and Dark, Dim Shades of  Blues (Such as Indigo and Navy)
Noses and Paws: Shades of Gray (Silver), Black, White, and Pink

  • Chirr’ker wouldn’t allow the dying of their fur, therefore, they cannot be colors outside of the established list.
  • Chirr’ker who furs colors are light and/or bright shades of blue such as ‘Sky Blue’, ‘Pastel Blue’ and ‘Baby Blue’, etc. are not acceptable.

Lifespan:

Lives to the maximum of two-hundred and eight (208) IC  years, or four (4) OOC years. Should they suffer from Pygmy Syndrome, they’ll live a third of their original life expectancy, resulting in a life span of one (1) year and four (4) months OOCly or sixty-eight (68) years ICly.

  • They cannot live past their max life expectancy through any means.

General:

  • Chirr’ker have the ability to see within natural darkness. Rather or not if this would be able to see though unnatural darkness would be left to the Player/ET running the event.
  • Natural darkness is defined as darkness which is born from the absence of a light source, and wasn’t created through a spell/magical means.

(Optional) Origins of the creature:

Strengths/Weaknesses

Mounts:

  • Puppies, Chirr’ker suffering from Pygmy Syndrome, and Adolescence cannot be used as Mounts.
  • Chirr’ker can only be ridden by those bound to them.
  • Cannot be ridden to CRP, Raids, Warclaims, etc. Basically any player vs player interactions. They will not help their bound with, what they believe, petty disagreements.
  • The purpose of these creatures are to assist in Lore Team events (Such as September Prince, Voidal Tear Events, and Demonic Invasion, Dungeon Runs etc.) and Player Run hunting events.

Bite:

Metal Armor:

Chirr’ker would be unable to pierce through metal armor, nor would they be able to obtain any sort of hold. Further attempts would result in their teeth breaking, leading to a slow, painful death of starvation as the canine is unable to hunt and eat.

  • After two (2) emotes of attempts and the Chirr’ker still hasn’t backed off, is the point in which their teeth break from misuse.
  • Chirr’ker, under no circumstances, would be able to bite through metal armors of any kind.

Treated Leather Armor:

Chirr’ker would be unable to pierce through leather armor, however, unlike metal armor the canine maintains a hold upon the figure. In downtime and they find themselves to be bored, they would at times purposely go out and find lines of leather to chew on like bubble gum. Perhaps making them the bane of smifts, cobblers, and shoe lovers everywhere.

  • Where Chirr’ker are unable to pierce through leather armor, they could instead keep hold onto it.
  • Chirr’ker enjoy chewing leather scraps, armor, and produce like bubble gum. They would appreciate it greatly if one offered some to them.
  • Chirr’ker suffering from Pygmy Syndrome would still be able to maintain a hold, they’re the size of the average dog. Think vicious lap dogs.

Cloth, Hide, and Unprotected:

Chirr’ker would be able to pierce through cloth, hide, and unprotected.

  • Cannot be used within CRP, Raids, Warclaims, etc. Basically any player vs player interactions. The purpose of these creatures are to assist in Lore Team events (Such as September Prince, Voidal Tear Events, and Demonic Invasion, Dungeon Runs etc.) and Player Run hunting events.

Base Speed:

Shuffle: Baby Chirr’ker and Chirr’ker suffering from Pygmy Syndrome would only be able to travel one (1) blocks an emote.

Walking: 7 mph, three (3) blocks per emote. A Chirr’ker can travel this distance with no issue halting themselves should, let’s say, somebody holds a spear in front of them. Base speed for adolescents and adults.

Running: 14 mph, six (6) blocks per emote. Requires the Chirr’ker to be walking the emote before, therefore, requiring two (2) emotes for them to reach this pace. Furthermore, they would require another emote to halt themselves, so should somebody aim a spear at them within the six (6) block range, the Chirr’ker would be unable to stop themselves to avoid being stabbed. Likely resulting in a fatal error.

  • In order to run, the Chirr’ker must be already traveling at walking speed.
  • The Chirr’ker requires one (1) emote and for the six space (blocks) in front of them to be cleared to halt, otherwise, they risk bulldozing whatever is right in front of them or running face first into a wall or weaponry.
  • Adolescents and older can achieve running speed.
  • Puppies and Chirr’ker suffering from Pygmy Syndrome are unable to travel past shuffle speed.

Red Lines

  • Females will not give birth to litters within captivity.
  • Chirr’ker can only wear  treated leather and cloth armor.
  • Chirr’ker are unable to go anywhere one cannot MCly reach, they’re unable to dig under fences, fit though one (1) block holes, etc. to validate how they reached somewhere the player themselves cannot.
  • Chirr’ker require a two (2) block wide and two (2) block high entry way to walk into any buildings. If a horse won’t MCly fit, a Chirr’ker cannot RPly fit.
  • Chirr’ker can only be fitted with leather and cloth armor, as metal armor would overhead the canine.
  • Just because puppies and Chirr’ker suffering from Pygmy Syndrome are about the size of  a Golden Retriever does not mean they can be used in Player vs Player conflict.
  • Cannot be used to metagame anyone due to the character smelling a ‘certain way’.
