The Yong Ping State Examinations

THE YONG PING STATE EXAMINATIONS

 

 

Fliers are distributed round the streets of Yong Ping, additional posters pinned to any spare walls.

 

With the increasing popularity of Yong Ping and the influx of new citizens, the Government extends an invitation to all those that wish to aid our City on our road to prosperity. The following Four Ministries will be opening positions for citizens to apply in the form of State Examinations.

 

The State Examinations will be held during The Grand Harvest in the Temple, Yong Ping City.

As a government official, one is eligible for a tax break of 5 mina, as well as the opportunity to make a difference in the community. Only Citizens are able to apply, with the exception of Foreign Diplomats for Foreign Affairs.

 

MINISTRY OF INTERIOR:

Stewardship: 

• Stewards require knowledge of the Property Laws in Yong Ping as their chief responsibility is to handle property purchases. 

• Stewards also need to understand the process of purchase, including how downpayments work and each property’s value.

• An additional task for Stewards is the running of Llama tours, whereby each Steward will take what they earn from the tours [2 mina per guest] as salary for guiding visitors round Yong Ping and providing an introduction to the local customs.

 

MINISTRY OF JUSTICE:

Judges:

• Judges require intimate knowledge of the Laws in Yong Ping, usually through work as a Lawyer first before earning their Guan Hat through promotion.

• A clear understanding of the importance of impartiality is crucial to this role, and will be a major deciding point of hire.

• Judges will be commissioned per case they rule on by the state, earning 10 mina. This is liable to change depending on Yong Ping’s Economy.

Lawyers:

• Lawyers require intimate knowledge of the Laws in Yong Ping. This is non-negotiable.

• Lawyers are expected to uphold professionalism, with their primary allegiance being to the Justice system, their client’s interests second.

• Lawyers also need to understand the process of citizenship and must help process citizenship applications.

• Lawyers too will be commissioned by clients. These commission prices will be decided between client and lawyer in private contract.

 

MINISTRY OF RITES:

Rites Officer:

• Rites Officers are tasked with handling event management, gathering of event materials or props, as well as writing up invitations. [OOC: Forum post writing]

• Rites Officers are required to be able to handle interactions with locals and guests, with a sociable personality.

• Rites Officers are eligible for the Government Worker tax cut.

 

MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS:

Ambassador:

• Ambassadors must have intimate knowledge of Yong Ping’s Laws and cultural values. 

• Ambassadors are also tasked with fostering good relations with other nations whilst keeping Yong Ping and its People’s interests paramount.

• Ambassadors are eligible for the Government Worker tax cut.
