Alms for the Poor Painting by Robert Kemm Reproduction | 1st Art Gallery

[!] Posters were plastered all over the walls within the city of Providence. Underneath a drawn depiction of the homeless and less fortunate were finely written paragraphs:

As I walk through our wonderful Providence, I cannot help but pass by empty stalls that seem to have collected cobwebs, as signs stand in front of the remaining ones that barely survive. . . Oh wait, the sign states "Eviction" . . . Another shop gone, another citizen’s way of making money gone. I take a moment to ponder the reasons as to why another shop has fallen before I make my way down the streets. I see a young child begging for mina from various gentlemen and women, dirt covered their face as their malnourished hands reach out for mina. My heart couldn’t help but sink into the depths of my stomach, I gave whatever mina I could for this child to feed themselves and their family. Once I saw that huge smile upon their face at my offer, I continue onward, my eyes trailing at the empty houses and yet more eviction signs upon the ones that had families within. I cannot help but let out a sigh. How do we let our own citizens struggle, even with all their efforts of attempting to keep a roof over their children's heads, tis’ all in vain as they no longer can afford the taxes to do so.

It is absolutely heartbreaking to see almost everyday that the homeless population increases. As they struggle, crimes such as stealing and robbery also increase as these unfortunate citizens have no other options but to resort to the life of crime. Soon, they are locked away within jail cells, which just repeats the cycle once they are released. No employer will employ someone with a criminal past, no one would give someone with such a past a chance, which results in the same situations I have stated prior. We are oppressing the poverty stricken citizens that were once promised the endless opportunity that Oren was supposed to provide for all creatures. Yet, we have failed these innocent souls more often than not. The classism is very apparent and it seems that certain nobility thrive off of oppressing these individuals.

I, alderwoman Ophelia Romanov, say nay to continuing this oppression of the middle and lower class! I will henceforth be paying for multiple houses to fit our destitute populace within, a half-way house to get these struggling people back upon their feet! I will be paying the taxes for this housing and will help the ones who struggle the most within Oren. It is quite sad that our own citizens struggle with basic rights such as having a shelter over their heads. No one should be stuck with living under trees or streets to call home, no soul deserves endless cycles of oppression. If this housing project works, I shall eventually purchase more, amongst other future charity projects - all to help those in need when others turn the other cheek to their pleas!

From this point onward I, Ophelia Romanov, your proud and devoted Providence alderwoman, will be devoting the rest of my life to helping those less fortunate than I. I will be doing so through the Romanov Charity, a non-profit charity organization that I will be personally managing. Many blessings to all who are reading this.

If you’re of desperate need for housing and are down on your luck please feel free to send me a bird! I will happily provide you lodging if your situation demands such an accommodation.

While I’m still banned it doesn’t mean that I can’t advance forward with my roleplay! I’m hoping that I’ll be able to convince the admins to unban me sooner than expected, there are many staff members advocating for such a thing - thank you for all those who are standing up for me. I’ve been super excited to start my charity organization and am looking forward to see where it goes! Like I mentioned in the post if you’re down on your luck and need housing assistance definitely let me know and I’ll do what I can! Thanks!))
