[!]A public Eulogy of Father Hans Braun

"Citizens,
It is with sad news that I report the death of my friend, and a Priest of the Church, Father Hans Braun. His death remains a great mystery, having disappeared from our estate one day - and only to be informed of his murder another. I trust and believe our Ministry of Justice to be fully investigating this issue to come to a natural and just resolution.

Few Individuals of humble origins often receive lengthy Eulogies and recognitions, and thus I would like to offer some words for a humble man of GOD and the Empire.

When I was first met the Valah known as Acolyte Hans Braun, he was a drunkard - a sinner of the worst kind in service to the ISA. In fact, my first real interaction with the man was after an ISA investigation had determined he had broken into my home and robbed things from within. There are many actions presented before me that day, and I am glad that I looked at the Lorraine cross upon the Acolyte's chest and remembered the teachings of the scrolls - I showed deference that day to his position, and granted mercy for his crime which he willfully admitted.

This would begin a long relation between myself an Acolyte Braun, who spent nearly a decade as an Acolyte (A record perhaps, in some circles). The man rarely committed to anything in haste, but once he had, one could be assured he would give it the full devotion. I was there when the man was ordained, becoming Father Braun and when I asked him to come live in the Vale of Arentine, "There you might turn the Elven flock to the light". He accepted heartily without reservation. His preaching, his sermons, and his steady instruction a welcome to the young and the old Mali struggling to understand their place amongst the Seven Skies.

Over the years, Father Braun would see to numerous weddings, and the baptisms of over a dozen Elves. Surely, St. Pius was interceding for all Elves and Father Braun in his tenure. Father Braun saw to the consecration and devotion of his shrine which rests prominently in the Elven conclave today. Prominently in my room hangs a Lorraine cross to which Father Braun blessed and presented to me as a gift. Father Braun has done more for the evangelism of Canonism into the Elven realm than many can claim before him.

We often judge our clergy by the great body of theological and written works they have produced, yet any who knew Father Braun would know he was not one to favor the quill. He led his flock by will and devotion, placing his faith into action wherever he went - often placing his own life on the line. In Rozania, he intervened to prevent the Wedding of an Elf and a Human, but shielded the Mali from certain death from an angry mob of lynchers who wished to put everyone at the wedding to death despite not being aware of the races of the individuals. This was Father Braun, willing to provide a firm hand to mali - teaching and instructing them on the right way, but compassion on the other - knowing that he must be as persistent as the Ex. Owyn in bearing the truth to sinners.

We pray for justice and hope that his killers are identified and named. Father Braun, we ask you pray for us from the Seven Skies and intercede that all zealous passions are tempered with mercy and compassion."

Servus,
