Da desert be our home, but da desert she be a harsh land. Da pink skins have plenty, dey build from da wood and stone. We orcs build from the sands dem selves. A pink skin can have a shelter made of wood and stone in days, but to build from sand can take us weeks.

But, while fishing I saw a strange island, da island be inhabited and da natives made der homes in giant mushrooms. Dis get me thinkin.

12th of The Amber Cold 1323:

No matter how good da dirt and how long I leave a mushroom, it will not grow bigger! It must be something else dat make dem big...

Trial and Error:

Coal, Wool, Seeds, Sugar, Apple, Melon, Melon Slice, Arrow, Fire, Metal Bone

Crushed bones are de answer! I came upon it by pure accident. While gnawing on da bone from a meal, I happened to spit the chewed remains on da mushroom... AND IT GREW!

14th of the Amber Cold 1323:

Da Formula:

Dirt + Mushroom + Ground Bone = Giant Mushroom

Giant Mushroom + Walls = Shelter

I be needing more toilet paper.

20th of the Amber Cold 1323:

I here dey be rebuilding da capital. I need to present dis to da warlord. Even temporary dis shelter will protect orcs from da outside. But how do I show da warlord? Maybe it be best to build first and let da warlord see for dem self...

I came to deliver a tribute of red wool to da warlord. One of his underlings took it for me. Den another came up and ask me if I join da army. Join da army? I be a thinkin orc not a fightin one. Besides I been surviving just fine outside dem walls why I be needing da army?

Da strong are strongest when alone.

I be needing nothing but me and my bow.

After beating dem giant spiders to death with my bow, I think I be needing arrows too. Maybe army idea not so bad...
